Ben White indeed, can't carry on.

On come Ali Jahanbakhsh and Pascal Gross for White and Steven Alzate.

Chelsea will send on Callum Hudson-Odoi - another attacker to shoehorn in somewhere - for Kai Havertz.

Has Ben White hurt himself in the process? He did really well then. Ross Barkley delays and delays the pass. Timo Werner tries to fire it across but Ben White flies across to make the block but he's not moving well at all.

Ahhh, almost superb from Chelsea. Kai Havertz and Ngolo Kante start the counter in their own half and Ross Barkley is sprung on the Brighton backline.

Timo Werner is running free ahead of him and Barkley plays the pass at the right time, the German lets loose and Ben White recovers to make a superb block.

That's Kurt Zouma's first Premier League goal for Chelsea for five years. Tariq Lamptey does great again to stop Kai Havertz from getting a ball across goal.

Chelsea look in the mood now, a flowing counter sees Marcos Alonso look to cross and Timo Werner in space at the far post. Your man Tariq Lamptey blocks with a cracking challenge though.

Important. Daylight for Chelsea. Graham Potter will be going potty over this goal. Kurt Zouma was going away from goal and it was just a helpful volley to get it back into the area. Now you think Brighton are in big trouble. It's so important to defend set pieces properly.

    Kurt Zouma

A real slice of luck for Chelsea. Reece James' corner is volleyed goalwards by Kurt Zouma but it's going to be a regulation save until Adam Webster flicks a boot out and diverts it past Mat Ryan.

It wasn't even an opportunity, to be honest, when Reece James unleashed that swerving shot. Brilliant. He now wins a corner.

Brighton manager Graham Potter will be so frustrated. They had worked really hard to get themselves back on level terms and then they are behind again right away.

The Seagulls have acquitted themselves well and have had the game's outstanding performer in Tariq Lamptey.

But that's your job, isn't it.

Since he joined Chelsea in 2018, Kepa Arrizabalaga has conceded more Premier League goals from outside the box (19) than any other goalkeeper.

What a flunk from Dunk. He can't miss that! He's five yards out. Anywhere on target he scores but he puts it agonisingly wide. It's a horrible, horrible miss. I don't know how he's missed it?

  18. SITTER!published at 59 mins

This game has gone all absurd! What a chance now for 2-2!

Chelsea's defending is a mess once again as Brighton skipper Lewis Dunk is left all alone at the far post but somehow he closes his eyes on it and heads wide. Four yards out. Just hit the target!

Wow. This is brilliant from Reece James! I don't think you can blame Mat Ryan for that. He's caught it absolutely flush. He's powered it into the top corner. Absolutely stunning.

    Reece James (56 mins)

    Good grief!

Reece James' first Premier League goal is one for the ages. An absolute humdinger, smashed into the top corner from a mile out!

He hit across the ball, outside of the boot, and it arced away from the goalkeeper and into the net.

    Just brilliant.
