Christian Evans: Rodriguez really is some player, give him an inch of space and he'll take a mile.

Veezard: James Rodriguez at the heart of everything. Everton looking like a real threat this season.

    Eugene Ward: Great game this.

    Dominic Calvert-Lewin

    Make that 14.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the hat-trick hero! The corner comes in from the left and the striker gets there first to power it into the net.

It may even have come off his back but who cares? Everton could score really big here.

T.A. Gilbert: That's 12 Premier League goals on Merseyside already this season, and we haven't finished the second match yet!

We're up to 13 in less than two games now, following Liverpool's opening 4-3 win against Leeds.

    Everton 4-2 West Brom

Allan skips around two players and tries to slide it across to the left. Matheus Pereira is tracking back but Everton have the ball back within seconds and James Rodriguez eventually wins a free-kick off Jake Livermore.

  8. goal

    Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It's that man James Rodriguez with the creative spark to set up another Everton goal.

He lifts it perfectly over the top and into the box for Richarlison, who hits it low towards the far post.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin comes sliding in at the back post to poke it over the line and makes sure.

Everton have been excellent going forward.

Michal Koziol: If Everton can sort out their defence and bring in a better goalkeeper, I make them a contenders for the top 4 spot. Keane and Mina are decent, but not at that level yet and there's no depth there.

    Everton 3-2 West Brom

Seamus Coleman tires to get past Dara O'Shea but loses out. The Everton full-back keeps the pressure up and with the help of Abdoulaye Doucoure, they eventually win it back.

It's spread around the midfield before James Rodriguez slides a superb ball through to Lucas Digne. Darnell Furlong has to be smart in defence.

    Everton 3-2 West Brom

    Lovely play from West Brom.

Grady Diangana and Callum Robinson link-up in the middle with a flicked one-touch give and go.

It's too easy for them and in the end, Yerry Mina has to hoof a low cross from the left out for a throw-in, under pressure in the box.

Farai Diza: If Everton thought beating Mourinho's star studded Spurs would pave way for a walk in the park against West Brom, they have been shook. Pereira's freekick was like ice cream on centre court at Wimbledon. Beautiful.

Now I really want ice cream...

  14. goal

GOAL - Everton 3-2 West Brompublished at 53 mins

    Michael Keane

    Mad game, this!

It's Lucas Digne who takes the free-kick and Richarlison gets his head on it. He draws a good save from Sam Johnstone but the rebound is poked in by Michael Keane from close range.

    Everton are in front again!

    Everton 2-2 West Brom

Everton take a quick free-kick and James Rodriguez swings it out wide to Lucas Digne.

Richarlison then draws a foul near the touchline so Digne or Allan can put a ball into the box.

Again, Everton look to respond immediately. Dominic Calvert-Lewin tries to get the better of Semi Ajayi but West Brom clear their lines.

    Matheus Pereira

    WOW.

It's an absolute stunner. Matheus Pereira, West Brom's main man, can't stop smiling because he steps up to take the free-kick and curls it beautifully into the top right corner.

Nothing Jordan Pickford can do about that and 10-man West Brom are level within minutes of the second half!

    Magic.

Alistair Wiseman: How can people say that's not a red for Gibbs? I'm an Arsenal fan and have always wished him all the best... but that's a red card all day, every day, in the Prem, La liga or Sunday league!

Stephen MCP Brogarth: Great goal by James but Allan is a truly incredible signing for Everton. He's aggressive, technically gifted, passes forward and breaks up play.

Some sympathy with Bilic there as he is right the 1st Everton goal shouldn't have stood because of a push on the defender. He can have no complaints over the red card though. Gibbs just can't react like that.

    Michael Eskowitz, Manchester.
