All those United fans crying out for Sancho should at last realise what most of us knew 6 months ago. He's not what we need - we need A CENTRE BACK! Is that loud enough for you?
Dave
The absolute state of some of these Man Utd fans. All clubs have good and bad patches, some (as a Newcastle fan) can be worse than others. But if the core of your identity as a fan is winning every week, you're watching the wrong league - go and support Real Madrid.

There has been a change to the Arsenal line-up. Kieran Tierney was hurt in the warm-up so Sead Kolasinac takes his place.

Having followed United for 55 years, how much more disappointment can we take? On the day that Mourinho signs Bale and Reguilon, Liverpool add Jota, we get stuffed at home by Palace.

"Life long fan" Dave must be in his early teens with that attitude. Not old enough to truly appreciate United for being more than just the present. Don't get me wrong, I am a disappointed United fan but I'll be a United fan until the end. Through the good, the bad and the ugly. Otherwise, what's the point of being a fan. The true issue here is behind the scenes. I want to see the end of Woodward and all the horror he has brought with him. Until he goes, we will struggle to move back to the 'good', from the far too usual 'bad and ugly'!

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to Sky Sports: "It's been a good week [after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's new deal]. Some good news we were waiting few weeks for. We are in good spirits. I think we'll have a tough game today."
Why did he make two changes?
"Every game demands different things. I want to keep everyone involved. Last season we won this game but there were so many aspects we didn't control and we were lucky to win. We need to do better tonight."
Arsenal v West Ham (20:00 BST)
West Ham boss David Moyes to Sky Sports: "There's no doom and gloom around the place.
"We need to play really well. Arsenal have started the season well and won a couple of trophies in the past few weeks.
"We played very well here last season and were unlucky to lose."
Man Utd 1-3 Crystal Palace
You can rate the players' performances in here.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are on 2.61 each...

Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace midfielder Andros Townsend speaking to Sky Sports: "We know we have the quality in the squad, we've added one or two good young players and we were fully confident. We knew it was Manchester United's first game and we knew if we started fast we could catch them cold and that's what we did."
On Wilfried Zaha: "Incredible. What else can I say? He's an incredible talent, he's shown that in the six or seven years he has been here and we're very fortunate to have him in our ranks. Hopefully we can have him for a while longer yet."
On two wins from two: "Last season showed us we can't get carried away. We know we need to keep it one game at a time. We know we have it in the dressing room to have a good season. We did last season but we fell away towards the end. Hopefully we can learn from our mistakes."
Man Utd 1-3 Crystal Palace

Arsenal v West Ham (20:00 BST)
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta comes up against his old boss today. The Spaniard scored 27 goals in 174 Premier League appearances for Everton, all under David Moyes.
Man Utd 1-3 Crystal Palace
The last time Manchester United lost their opening Premier League match by at least two goals was in 1995-96, when they lost 3-1 at Aston Villa.
They went on to win the title.
Arsenal v West Ham (20:00 BST)
Arsenal have been top of the league all week, which does not mean very much after only one game apart from the confidence you get from knowing you have made a really good start. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's new contract will help build their belief too.
West Ham, on the other hand, were wishy-washy in their defeat by Newcastle and they always seem to be fighting fires off the pitch.
Prediction: 2-1

Embarrassing, no heart, no spine and no pride from United. Half the starting 11 don't deserve to wear the jersey.
John, Edinburgh
As a life long utd fan, they are now dead to me. I will bury them, mourn and move on. I can no longer accept continued disappointment in my life. Ole can stay and go down with the ship for all i care.
Dave in lockdown.
Seen a lot of people complaining about the lack of pre season and the schedule going against us and whilst it certainly doesn't help, United haven't help themselves. If you're not going to make signings you're going to be punished. Panic buy mode incoming.

Garett T Switzer: People who are optimistic about Bale's return have not been watching Real Madrid the last two years. While I believe he got treated poorly in Madrid and certainly had some moments of brilliance, he's been average at best when he got on the pitch the last two years.
Graham B: Bale is a good signing for Spurs, he will create space for the likes of Kane and Alli Talk of him being “past it” is nonsense, he won’t run through teams anymore but he’ll be creative

Bale is a great signing for Tottenham! He hasn't been happy for so long at Madrid and this move will rejuvenate him. Will also put healthy pressure on the rest of squad being around such quality. Looking forward to seeing some bicycle kicks from 50 yards!
