Tom McQuillin: It’s got to the point I wonder if I’ll ever see Spurs win a game again. A bit of an exaggeration but the quality has been so low for what feels like months. No shots in 35 minutes and getting played off the park - it’s becoming predictable.

Ash Williams: Eric Dier is NOT a centre back. To be honest he never gave Spurs much in midfield either. Far too slow.

    Southampton 1-0 Tottenham

Southampton break through the middle with pace and directness and Spurs just can't deal with it.

Moussa Djenepo slips it left to Ryan Bertrand on the overlap and his dangerous cut-back is just about gathered in by Hugo Lloris, with Che Adams inches away from getting on the end of it.

Great touch and finish from Ings, but once again Dier showing why he's terrible. Slow off the mark and had no idea Ings was even there. Spurs have been terrible.

Harry Winks' pass to Ben Davies is sloppy and it goes straight out for a throw-in. Jose Mourinho collects the ball and is shouting instructions as he hands it back to former Spurs' man Kyle Walker-Peters.

We've got one that counts. Check this goal out on Match of the Day 2 tonight. Danny Ings at his sharpest. There is a tiny little space to get the ball past Lloris into the corner and Ings has found it. What a finish.

Hugo Lloris looked annoyed with himself and you can understand why. He shouldn't be getting beaten from there.

But Danny Ings' finish was so good.

    Danny Ings

    Wow.

Danny Ings, take a bow. It's a sublime piece of skill and finish from the Southampton striker.

It's a simple ball over the top on the right from Kyle Walker-Peters but Ings brings it down with a superb touch and an even better finish from a tight angle, to go across Hugo Lloris and into the far corner.

That's his first of the season.

If your hand changes the direction of the ball it's handball. Just like in tennis, if the ball hits your hand the opponent gets the point. All this unnatural position talk is rubbish.

Danny Ings is allowed to run into the box and he doesn't shoot. Instead, he tries to slip it through to James Ward-Prowse and gets it all wrong.

'Why is Lo Celso not playing?'

    Anthony, London

Luke Nash: Stephen Miller (12.11pm) Jose rates Lo Celso HIGHLY. He has just come back from injury and played an energy sapping game on Thursday and we have to play a ridiculous amount of games in a short period of time. It's a squad game.

    Southampton 0-0 Tottenham

Matt Doherty lifts it down the line for Lucas Moura. He's offside but the flag can't go up yet so he slides it across to Harry Kane in the box and the striker puts it away into the roof of the net.

Then the flag goes up. Goal ruled out.

    Ooof!

Moussa Djenepo has had a good half so far and he almost got a goal here. A James Ward-Prowse free-kick is headed away by Harry Kane.

Djenepo picks it up outside the box and hits it first time. It crashes against the outside of the post.

To be fair Skully, if I had put the ball in the net how Danny Ings did - even if it was disallowed - I'd be celebrating. Proper finish.

James Warren: So, it’s less of a Saints V Tottenham as it is a Kane V Ings fixture today. Let’s see who wants it more shall we?

Skully: I can't understand why players celebrate a goal after they know the ball has hit their arm and they know it's going to get ruled out by VAR. Bizarre

Son Heung-min pounces on a mistake from Dale Stephens but lets the ball run out for a corner.

Nothing comes of it and Southampton work it out from the back really nicely. Ben Davies has to do some defending at the other end to stop Danny Ings getting away in the box.

Equally ludicrous handball decision. Law makers lament at the entertainment they are denying. Frustration levels are way up though!

David C W, Lymm (Spurs fan)

What gets me with these close VAR calls is how they judge WHEN the ball is passed. Millimetres either way will make a massive difference. What's the guidance?
