    How!?

Moussa Djenepo makes Matt Doherty look silly with a superb, jinking run down the left and along the byline.

He cuts it back to Che Adams, who dummies a shot then eventually sees his effort blocked.

It bounces out to James Ward-Prowse, who skews the volley and it's then scrambled off the line by Hugo Lloris under pressure from Djenepo.

From the resulting corner, Ben Davies has to clear it off the line!

All going on here at the moment. Hugo Lloris came miles off his line to clear, headed the ball and it hit Danny Ings on the arm. Ings gets up and slots it in but the referee's assistant immediately flags for handball.

Son Heung-min makes another smart run but this time keeper Alex McCarthy reads it and mops up outside of his box.

    This is some finish.

Che Adams picks up a loose ball in midfield and lifts it over the top to Danny Ings, who was in behind.

Hugo Lloris reacts to the situation, comes charging out of his box but doesn't quite deal with it.

It bounces back off Ings and he coolly curls it over the two defenders running back and into the net.

The flag goes up immediately though because there was a handball from Ings.

A fine save by Hugo Lloris but worth remembering we are only in week two...

Deldude: Hugo Lloris still got the instincts. That’s one of the saves of the season.

Philip West: Mourinho’s blatantly decided Alli isn’t for him. An acrimonious exit from Spurs will inevitably follow, followed by Alli and Mourinho criticising each other further down the track. You can see it coming a mile off.

Edward Small: Don't forget that Spurs have three other games in a week with a game on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. I'd only be worried about Dele leaving if he didn't feature at all in the next week. The squad must be rotated to prevent injuries.

Tanguy Ndombele slips it through to Harry Kane, who had got in behind the two centre-backs.

He knows he's offside so lets it run for Son Heung-min, who had also made the run, but he's offside too!

Stephen Miller: Mourinho wilfully fails to recognise creativity. I don’t think he understands… we’ve got Dele Alli demotivated in the way Pogba was at ManU. Playing alongside Bale could be making of him (JM also seems to seriously undervalue likes of Lo Celso & Alderweireld)

Barry Bantz: Technology is not the problem. The way humans are using it is. Sort it out FIFA, UEFA, FA. VAR is a disgrace at present, ruining our game

Paul: I'm an Arsenal fan but it's a shame that Son was offside in build up to that now disallowed Spurs goal. Quality finish by Kane.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 10 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Tottenham

What a save this is from Hugo Lloris!

The free-kick is curled into the centre and it falls kindly for Che Adams. He absolutely smashes it.

It is straight at Lloris but he has to react to tip it over the bar.

Liz Tray: That Spurs offside is absolute nonsense. I thought VAR wasn't doing this anymore? A shoulder being an inch offside was finished and attackers get a benefit?

Son Heung-min threads it through to Ben Davies, who whips another dangerous cross in from the left.

It's over Harry Kane's head and though Lucas Moura can pick it up on the far side, Southampton deal with it.

The hosts go up the other end and Moussa Djenepo wins a free-kick in the opposition half.

The reality is Spurs won't progress while Mourinho remains, whoever we sign. Levy took a ridiculous gamble and it's clearly not going to work. The guy is a narcissist, 10 years past his prime. Keep Alli, sack Mourinho and appoint the kind of manager who can restore harmony and maximise the squad's undoubted potential.

11.57 Ed, Guildford. Mourinho wasn't moaning. He was asked a question and answered it honestly. Just because you and others can't stand him, doesn't mean he's always wrong.
