However, with they get possession, Fernandinho drops into a back-three, allowing Walker and Benjamin Mendy to push forward as wing-backs.

Tielemens then has to drag De Bruyne back and earn himself a yellow card to prevent Kevin de Bruyne charging away on the break.

It's a bit flat, let's be honest. Manchester City lead and are the team on the front foot. They are basically saying to Leicester "come on, give us a game". I don't know when Brendan Rodgers will think about changing it (Leicester's shape) to ask more questions because at the minute they are making it very easy for Manchester City.

Jamie Vardy of something of a passenger in the game. He's making runs, but mainly to come deep in pursuit of the ball as opposed to chasing attacking opportunities.

Sterling's first eye of goal. A lovely little bit of play on the edge of the box sees the forward unleashed into space. He is at an angle and fires his shot straight at Schmeichel, who saves. That is what they can do to you, though. Leicester's defenders like traffic cones.

Barring that thunderbolt from Mahrez it has been quite a tame opening. The home side have their advantage, though. No need to go all gung-ho.

I get where you're coming from Simon. Football is supposed to be entertainment. You know, fun.

That might have done Leicester some good. I don't know if Brendan Rodgers will say to Jamie Vardy now "forget what we have been working on, go high on the shoulder of the two centre-backs and play down the sides" because that is where they will get their joy. For me he is playing far too deep and Leicester are playing into Manchester City's hands.

Back at the Etihad and the home side continue to dominate possession, patiently looking for an opening in the Leicester half.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho tells BBC Sport: "Not for me to comment [on the handball]. Fantastic performance, deserve the points clearly but we lost two points.

"We were [fantastic] but Karl Darlow maybe deserves the man of the match unless you want to give it to someone who is not a player.

"I am very happy with my team and that is the most important thigng for me and the most important feeling.

"(Goalkeeping coach) Nuno Santos [maybe said what I was feeling] but I am more experienced than him and I protected myself by going straight own the tunnel.

"I don't want to speak about it. The only feeling I am ready to share is that I don't feel Tottenham is respected according to to what the club is. No respect.

What now for Leicester? Brendan won't want to completely rip up the gameplan just yet, but it makes their afternoon a lot trickier. Probably best to continue digging in for now and let the game settle. At some point, though, they'll need to come out.

Not to completely undermine Chris here, but we probably will see a better goal this season. That takes nothing away from the hit, though. It was an absolute belter.

You will not see a better goal this season. That was absolutely a wonder strike with his right foot - and you have got to say that is his weaker foot. He just concentrates as the ball comes to him, shows great composure and puts his foot through it completely.
