This is ace. Kyle Walker absolutely flies down the right wing on the overlap, gets the ball and flashes in a cross but Marquinhos is well stationed to clear it away.

At the risk of repetition - where was the striker?

Manchester City have upped the tempo and they are pushing bodies forward but thy have got to watch the pace of Kylian Mbappe.

One ball played in and if the goalkeeper is not switched on, he's in. He's got the legs on both centre-halves.

    City have to be careful.

Joao Cancelo is on a booking and is one tackle away from costing City so he's hauled off for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

I was only talking about that trip this lunchtime Joe! And I was saying I might do the same again for the next Euros. Will give you a shout.

Ooooh, that's nearly as nice as a night out in Kaiserslautern, Kevin de Bruyne hooking a brilliant overhead effort over the bar. That was close!

Scott, Leicester: My life will be half empty without your witty and insightful, sporting comments, Tom.

Eddie, Leeds fan: Top man Tom always watch the footie with one eye on what you've got to say cheers

J Staggs, High Wycombe: Good luck Tom. You've helped me get through some really dark days with your brand of humour. All the best from an Arsenal fan.

Joe Harding, Brighton: Spent two weeks touring Germany with Tom and friends for 2006 world cup. Motorhome was returned with a hole in the roof from hitting an overhanging object! Have proudly followed his work on BBC sports ever since. All the best Tom.

Riyad Mahrez, and by extension Jermaine Jenas on commentary, are not happy with the refereeing at the moment as PSG break up the game.

Superb from Angel di Maria to dribble away from near his own corner flag and then ping a pass into the run of Kylian Mbappe. Ederson clears from miles outside his area.

    Dion Dublin
Former Man Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester City are just starting to move the ball a bit quicker, one and two touch. It's so much better.

Phil Foden is now coming in off the left and he's playing in that number nine spot alongside Kevin de Bruyne. They are finding that position and that is where the problems are going to come from, if PSG allow that.

City need to get the ball into those dangerous number nine areas. Keep bouncing the ball about. Move PSG about a bit more. Give them something to think about it.

Kevin de Bruyne is the latest to thread in a low cross but it's well cleared. And there's the danger! Kylian Mbappe just absurdly fast to get onto a clearance, he stands up John Stones inside the area and fires in a low cross that flashes right across goal.

    Just needed a touch!

As promising as their football has been since the restart Manchester City haven't mustered a shot on goal. Joao Cancelo does get forwards now but his cross is plucked from the air by Keylor Navas.

    Paris St-Germain 1-0 Manchester City

Manchester City are unbeaten in 20 away fixtures (W18), since a 2-0 Premier League defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on 21 November.

In that 20-match unbeaten run, City were trailing at half-time only once - 1-0 in their 2-1 Champions League quarter-final win at Borussia Dortmund on 14 April.

I got a car FULL of leaving gifts. It was frankly ridiculous. I didn't know anyone liked me until I was leaving. The 'virtual' collection fund is an absolute boon by the way. None of this 'stick a few coins in an envelope' nonsense.

Back to more pressing matters, City are still probing away and on top in this second half. I still think they need a forward out there but what do I know.

Lottie Wainwright: Tom, it's been an adventure. I feel we've become friends through live text. Good luck for the future.

David Stone: Tom Rostance - absolute legend. Nuff said.

This is better from City, more urgent in their pressing as they pen PSG in right by the corner flag. They still get out but it's hard work for the defence.

Mitchel Bakker heads away the KDB delivery. Phil Foden appears to be more central, not sure if that's permanent.

Jarleth: Such a shame you're leaving, Tom. I’ve followed so many text commentaries from over the years with you, from Super Bowls to loads of football and other sports. Good luck in whatever you do next Tom
