It is telling that Di Maria and Neymar are dropping into deeper central spots, seeking out the ball before then dwelling on it in the hope of spying space or a good run. Nothing doing.

That final ball is not there yet for PSG. They're getting plenty of possession and territory to carry them to the edge of the City box, but can't find a way to break down this well-drilled home defence.

Neymar and Di Maria have shown nice touches, but nothing truly telling.

That first 30 minutes has flown by.

City are looking very composed, very controlled when they're in possession. I do like the weight of pass when they play it to each other. If they have to pass it in quick, they'll pass it in quick. If they want to pass it for that player, they pass it for that player. It's very, very good play.

There's been no dominance from either side. Yes, City have the goal that matters but both sides are really keeping the ball well, trying to play little triangles in the middle of the park.

There is a lot to admire about this PSG side. They move the ball crisply, they try to play on the front foot. Neymar looks to get another attacking move going with a ball out wide, but the cross into the mixer floats over everyone and out.

This is perhaps the first little lull in the game. It's good for City, though. They needed to get a foothold and stem the PSG attacks.
