Brighton have got a bit more control in the midfield now. They are passing the ball a little bit better. They need to find the areas where they are dangerous. They know where Tariq Lamptey is, and you're seeing a little bit more of Aaron Connolly and Neal Maupay now getting on the ball. The don't want to lose another goal though.

Aaron Connolly has taken a knock to his chest and looks in some discomfort but should be able to shake it off.

Jordan Pickford has still had nothing to do but Brighton are getting on the ball a bit more.

You need a coach who constantly needs to remind you when you’re falling into bad habits. We all do it. If you start having three touches when two will do, they’ll tell you. Duncan Ferguson will tell Dominic Calvert-Lewin that.

For the goal he didn't just attack the ball, but the defender too. Ferguson’s getting him to do that, there’s no doubt about it.

James Rodriguez attempts an audacious effort from distance, aiming a curled effort for the top corner but gets too much height on his shot and the ball sails well over.

A brilliant turn and burst forward by Seamus Coleman sends Everton on the attack. The ball is worked to Dominic Calvert-Lewin but Ben White reads the danger superbly to intercept and break forward himself.

The build-up to that goal was another illustration of James Rodriguez's influence on Everton.

With Tom Davies playing ahead of Everton's defence, the hosts passing had become a bit short and slow. Rodriguez probably realised that, grabbed the ball off Davies and pinged a long diagonal, which got Everton into the left corner of the pitch. Shortly afterwards, Gylfi Sigurdsson crosses from the same area for Dom Calvert-Lewin to head in.

The Colombian is winding up some of the Brighton defence, but he's showing his nous already.

Richarlison can't continue as he hobbles off the pitch so Alex Iwobi is on for the forward.

That is a worry for Everton as Richarlison has been a big part of their impressive start to the season. Hopefully taken off as a precaution rather than something more serious.

I think before Everton's goal, Graham Potter would've been delighted Brighton had got that far because they probably didn't deserve to be level - but they were. They just switched off for that corner kick. The fact that Calvert-Lewin was ready for it tells you that the manager and coaching staff had worked on it. They shouldn't have fell for it, Brighton.

This is a concern for Everton as Richarlison, a doubt before this game, is caught by Tariq Lamptey's challenge and looks in real pain.

Nii: Everton are becoming title contenders now. People, take notice. They have an EPL title-winning manager.

That was Duncan Ferguson at his best. Back post, attacks the ball and puts it right into the back of the net.

Leon was talking about Sigurdsson playing with better players. There are players who get very frustrated when they aren't - I think he might be one of those.

A chance for Brighton to respond as they win a free kick on the right after a foul by Tom Davies. Leandro Trossard plays it short and good pressing by Everton forces Brighton backwards.

There was no foul. Calvert-Lewin was so high you thought he must have fouled someone, but he hasn’t.

Sigurdsson has been very impressive. He’s had to fight his way into the team. It’s a lovely ball into the far post.

Everton and Dominic Calvert-Lewin's transformation in such a short space of time is quite incredible. The Toffees are playing with confidence and energy while Dominic Calvert-Lewin now has that knack of being in the right place at the right time.

Absolutely brilliant at the back post by Calvert-Lewin. Really smart corner kick, played much quicker that Brighton expected it to be. The power and willingness of Calvert-Lewin. The leap was top quality. It was so high above the defender!
