Intrigued to see what Seamus Coleman does with James Rodriguez because James will come off that line and we have seen twice already that Coleman has underlapped, more than overlapped, and you only do that with players you believe in and will be able to hold the ball and not lose it.

It has settled into a fairly even contest now after a brighter start by Everton. There's been a couple of loose passes from both sides but that's likely a result of the wet surface as the rain continues to hammer down.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti admitted on Friday that his side are in a "beautiful bubble" at the minute, but he was also wise enough to warn that it wouldn't last.

In his programme notes, he says he wants his team to be "never satisfied" and as well as praising top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the Italian singles out centre-back Michael Keane, who is the only player to play in all of their six wins this season. "I have a lot of confidence in him," he says.

"Our results shouldn't be a surprise," adds Ancelotti, whose team are aiming to win their first four top-flight games since 1969.

As the warm-up comes to an end at a very damp Goodison, they look in the mood.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to BT Sport: “Unfortunately we gifted them a goal after five minutes in the second half, and to compound that we gifted them two more goals with the two penalties.

“We were playing against a good team who were very solid defensively themselves, which wasn’t easy.

“There were some poor performances out there today, that’s for sure. One or two will be looking in the mirror and saying they didn’t do anywhere near enough. Unfortunately these days do happen over the course of the season. You have to take it on the chin and can’t allow it to have too big an effect on your confidence.

“Our confidence was quite high before the match, but the couple of mistakes we made and the fact that we were fighting back from 2-0 down fairly early in the second half meant we’ve ended up with a heavy defeat.”

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard speaking to BT Sport: "Not too many put four past Crystal Palace. First half we started well, we came off it a little bit. We needed a bit more. It was great for us to get four goals.

"Just the urgency of our game needed more. We needed to get Ben Chilwell into the game. We can't allow Palace's back four to say dealing with Chelsea's front line was easy.

"Ben Chilwell was fantastic today. His ability to be so high up the pitch, and that's not a bad thing, and his great quality on the ball. The lads who have come in have all had issues so we need to give them time but Ben has shown what he's all about.

On Tammy Abraham wanting to take the second penalty: "It's been dealt with. No problems. Just dealt with. I want leaders - and a little bit of conflict. It's good that Tammy was enthusiastic but you don't jump ahead of the list."
