Luke Dady: Are we at the stage where we are predicting the number of nonsense penalties this weekend, rather than the number of goals? For the record, my guess is 8 penalties to be given.

Looking forward to seeing Eze from the start today. With him, Zaha and Ayew all running at Thiago Silva this could be very entertaining for neutrals like me!

  17. 'Chelsea will take time to gel'published at 12:26 British Summer Time 3 October 2020

Chelsea v Crystal Palace (12:30 BST)

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think it's a bit early to scrutinise Frank Lampard. The amount of players he has signed in a short time, it's not all going to fall into place.

You tend to see managers integrate those players slowly and it might be seven or eight weeks before you see those players playing regularly - but Frank basically threw all his big hitters in that were fit for the first few games and hoped that they would all find each other's game and hit the ground running.

It's not always the case and sometimes it takes a while to know individual player's style. I've got no doubt his team will gel together and it'll progress throughout the course of the season. It's only been three games and we're always a little bit quick to find fault in people.

Dave Payn: Given what's been happening recently should the football statisticians replace expected goals with expected handballs?

Keith Chapman: This is the Chelsea team! Once Ziyech is in, they'll be even stronger, surely.

  19. 'Lampard doesn't know his back four yet'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 3 October 2020

Chelsea v Crystal Palace (12:30 BST)

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

You look at the Chelsea line-up and they've gone to four at the back and it just screams out that Frank Lampard still doesn't know his best team. He doesn't know his back four yet.

The goalkeeper situation is done now but Marcos Alonso played last week, he's not playing this week, Reece James is back from injury but the centre-half pairing, where's Antonio Rudiger? What's happening with him? What's the best formation? I don't think Frank knows it yet.
