  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 39 mins

    England 1-0 Wales

Big blow for Wales in more ways than one. Kieffer Moore has been struggling for some time and he goes down again, touching the end of his toe in his boots like a chlid trying on some Clarks.

He can't carry on so Neco Williams is the man to come on. Definite change in system/shape there.

  2. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    England 1-0 Wales

Chance! Wales never clear the corner and eventually Michael Keane's cross is laced over the bar by Conor Coady.

  3. Tactical tweak for Walespublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 8 October 2020

    England 1-0 Wales

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

It looks like Wales have changed system to more of a 4-3-3.

Ethan Ampadu is sitting just in front of the back four and it looks like Joe Morrell has pushed up alongside Jonny Williams in midfield.

  4. Postpublished at 37 mins

    England 1-0 Wales

That stoppage has done England good, zipping the ball about nicely now as Jack Grealish wins a corner.

Chipperhull: Grealish to Calvert-Lewin. The 2 in form players in the prem combine to give England the lead

Nathan: Grealish’s end product is world class. Great movement, great awareness and great decision making. The man would shine in the Champions League.

Deldude: Never say Never. If somebody had told me Calvert-Lewin will be banging in goals for club and country like this....I would say wake up from thy Slumber Brother. Everton can’t keep him for too long I promise.

I'm so proud of DCL. Despite being a Welshman, I'm chuffed to bits as a Toffee to see him playing so well and for England. Promising times for the boy.

Jack Grealish started this game with a bandage on his right hamstring and he took it off during that little stoppage. Aston Villa fans/board members must be sweating.

Happy to report that Kieffer Moore and Nick Pope are both OK and we are playing again.

    England 1-0 Wales

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The season just gets better and better for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. It's all about Jack Grealish though, he doesn't try anything too clever just plays the ball head height in the corridor between goalie and centre half. Calvert-Lewin is alive and onto it. You have to say with all the confident play and all the possession Wales have had, it's the one real opening England have created and they've scored from it.

  10. No stopping Calvert-Lewinpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 8 October 2020

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin simply can't stop scoring but he will happily give a huge deal of credit to Jack Grealish. He delivered the sort of cross any striker dreams of, especially one in the sort of form Calvert-Lewin is in.

Big moment for both of those players.

  11. ouch!

    England 1-0 Wales

I tell you what Nick Pope was brave there - he got smashed in the face by Kieffer Moore's knee and it's actually the totem who is hurt. Treatment needed.

  12. Postpublished at 30 mins

    England 1-0 Wales

Wales are a threat still - Chris Mepham guides a header at Nick Pope before Kieffer Moore nearly just bulldozes his way through and Pope has to come out and make the stop.

  13. 'Against the run of play'published at 20:29 British Summer Time 8 October 2020

    England 1-0 Wales

    Joe Ledley
Former Wales midfielder on BBC Radio Wales

It's a fantastic ball by Grealish, in between Mepham and Hennessey.

It was against the run of play and now England will play with confidence.

  14. Postpublished at 27 mins

    England 1-0 Wales

I wouldn't say England deserve that lead but just one moment of quality was enough. Jack Grealish had been playing on the left of the England front three but popped up on the right to create.

  15. goal

GOAL - England 1-0 Walespublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 8 October 2020

    Dominic Calvert-Lewin (26 mins)

The man in form doesn't miss those! Jack Grealish does really well on the right wing, beats his man and teases in a perfect dinked cross which is just asking Dominic Calvert-Lewin to attack it.

That he does, soaring and smashing in a header. Debut goal!

Well played Nick Pope, coming out to claim a cross from in front of Kieffer Moore. England have been anonymous since the opening few minutes.

  17. 'Moore should hit the target'published at 20:23 British Summer Time 8 October 2020

    England 0-0 Wales

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

That's a chance. It's on his weaker foot, it almost hits his shin.

It's a poor defensive header from Bukayo Saka.

Moore just swings his left foot at it but he should be hitting the target from there.

  18. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    England 0-0 Wales

Chance! Best chance of the night and it falls for Wales, who are on top. Bukayo Saka duffs a header, not the best clearance and he can only find Kieffer Moore just inside the area. The former Yeovil Hercules has a clear shot on goal but scuffs it a touch with his left foot and can only bobble it wide.

Greg there with the shout of every England fan in any pub I've been in while watching a game since the mid 1990s.

Greg: England need to close down the Wales players more, get stuck in and make some tackles

Andy: Matondo looks like he could be a handful. The Welsh Messi

Kit: This is basically a friendly between a mid table Premier League team and a mid table Championship team. Not expecting fireworks

Don't understand this argument for selecting Pickford on the basis he has never let England down. Do we wait until he reproduces his club form at international level, then drop him? A case then of stable doors and bolting horses.
