You'll receive thousands of messages like this, but the fact Mount has been preferred to Grealish is criminal. Southgate has lost the plot. Jack is one of the best players in the PL. What level does he want to see him perform at after thrashing the world champions 7-2..?

Tom: Why does Southgate insist on playing people who are out of form? Pope should be in place of Pickford, Coady in place of Maguire and Grealish should be on in place of Rice. It should be an honour to play for England but apparently it’s a given right with some players

Belgium's Kevin de Bruyne believes England should be leading candidates at next year's European Championship and the 2022 World Cup.

Both England and Belgium reached the World Cup semi-finals in Russia two years ago.

"They should be very excited," the 29-year-old said of England. "It's a very young team with a lot of potential."

Dr. Paul: What an astonishingly negative team selection by Southgate - only three truly attack-minded players on the field, and three RBs? How he could look at the game vs Denmark last month and decide "Yeah I'll take some more of that please" I have no idea...

Belgium are looking to become the first team since France between 2004 and 2010 to win three consecutive games against England, and only the fourth in three consecutive competitive games, after Scotland (1962-64), Italy (1980-97) and Brazil (1962-2002).

The Nations League is separated into four divisions. The top three divisions have four groups with four teams. Each side plays the other teams in their group home and away - just like a Champions League group.

The bottom division has one group of four and one of three.

The team to win each group in League A - England won theirs last time - will go into the finals tournament in September or October 2021 (it was initially meant to be in June).

  11. Southgate rings the changespublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 11 October 2020

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

England manager Gareth Southgate has only named two players who figured in the win against Wales - Kieran Trippier and Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who plays because Harry Kane is not fit enough to start.

There will be plenty who feel Aston Villa's Jack Grealish should have been rewarded for his outstanding display against Wales with a start against Belgium, the world's number one ranked side.

Big test this for England because it is the sort they have failed to pass so many times in the past.

    Ben Foster
Watford and former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's not a surprise to see Jordan Pickford ahead of Nick Pope, but I did sort of expect Pope to start. It's sort of a Gareth Southgate line-up.

I thought it was Pope's time. For me, he's the goalkeeper with the confidence at the moment.

Southgate selecting on reputation not form. Hopefully he'll be gone before the Euros.

England have kept a clean sheet in each of their last six matches – should they keep a clean sheet against Belgium, it will be the longest run of games without conceding in the national side’s history.
