Manchester City defender Kyle Walker, speaking to BT Sport: "I’m happy to get on the scoresheet and obviously happy to get the three points, which was the main thing coming up here.

"They’re well drilled. Everyone knows their position and they’re a tough team to break down, but luckily enough I came up with the goal.

"My mum and dad live here, so if I’d celebrated I’d have got a lot of stick. I’m a Sheffield United fan, so I couldn’t celebrate.

"I’m enjoying my football. We don’t sit back and defend. We want to score three or four, but it’s great to get the clean sheet on the board as well.

"Defensively we’ve done fantastically well, especially Ruben [Dias] since he’s come in. Whoever steps in, they’re all going to put in top performances.

"There was always going to be a hangover [from last season]. It’s just what we’re dealing with at this moment in time."

Burnley's only victory in 12 Premier League games against Chelsea was a 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge in August 2017 (D3, L8).

Visitors Chelsea are unbeaten in all six of their Premier League fixtures at Turf Moor and have scored two or more goals in each of their five wins during that run.

Burnley haven't beaten Chelsea at home in the top-flight since August 1973, when Frank Casper scored the only goal.

Burnley are still waiting for their first win but they do seem to be getting better. They created a few chances against Tottenham on Monday and they were a bit unlucky to end up being beaten.

I think the Clarets will get something out of this game, though. I'm not fully convinced by Chelsea at the moment because I don't think you can be.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is still tinkering with his personnel and formation. Yes, they did pretty well against Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend but it was without ever really looking like scoring.

One positive is that Thiago Silva is already looking the part at the back. This will be Silva's first visit to Burnley but he will obviously be told what to expect about the way the Clarets play.

To be honest, though, they could just hang a crash helmet on his peg in the dressing room, and if he asks what it is about just tell him that he will find out at 3pm on Saturday.

To Turf Moor...

Sheffield United have now picked up just one point from their first seven league games of a season for the first time since 1975-76.

They have also failed to win any of their last 11 games in all competitions (D2 L9) – the longest winless run of Chris Wilder’s managerial career.

It wasn't particularly pretty, but it is a win for City against a hard-working but limited United side.

City are up to seventh, United stay on just the one point from seven games.

Nope.

Have Sheffield United got one final throw of the dice in them?

Josh Slater: Do you think City miss Sane? Previous years they had Sane and Sterling either flank then Aguero in the middle. I think they lack that extra pace on the other flank.

Three minutes of injury time. It is looking very much like a 1-0 City win.

Time is not United's friend now. Just a few minutes left for them to get anything from this game. They are getting increasingly desperate - the tackles more frantic, the passes wayward.

Kieran C: Re Dan in London. City have played most of the season without a recognised centre forward. They will be happy to be in the mix until Aguero and Jesus are fully fit.

A bit of improvising from Ramsdale sees off another City attack as he comes out to head away with Sterling sniffing after a long ball forward.

If Sheffield United just win the games against the teams around them, that keeps them safe. They were on a high last season, doing really well. I wouldn't be too despondent and down. If this was against Fulham, I'd say you've got to do better but losing 1-0 to City, I wouldn't get too down about that.

Willem Mevius: Last year, every time Sheffield Utd got the ball you could expect things to happen. Now you just wait for them to give it away again.

A chance to end this as a contest goes begging as Bernardo Silva fires a shot straight at Ramsdale following a driving run down the right.

Sheffield United have got into some good positions this half but haven't done nearly enough with them. A lovely long ball forward finds Baldock on the right, and he does well to cut inside his marker. But the following ball into the box is straight into a City player, who clears.

Gene Mudi: Often we have seen a newly promoted team overachieving on gaining promotion to the Premier League, only to underperform in the second season. I think it's called second season syndrome, and Sheffield United are showing every sign and symptom of SSS right now.
