Manchester City got a good win in the Champions League in France on Tuesday but Marseille were not up to much.

This will be a bigger test. Sheffield United are still without a win in 2020-21 but they created lots of chances at Anfield in their defeat by Liverpool last time out.

That was arguably the Blades' best performance of the season so far. I think they will be pretty direct again here, and they can cause City problems.

Ruben Dias has looked pretty solid in the City defence since he arrived at the end of last month but this will be a decent test for him.

    Prediction: 0-2

If I was Phil Foden I'd be a little bit aggrieved - but that's the luxury Pep Guardiola has got, so many fantastic players he can play. He might feel that Foden will be physically out-dominated by a Sheffield United team who'll get in your face. For me, Foden would be in their best elevn, but I'm not Pep Guardiola...

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

As impressive as Sheffield United were last season, they did struggle to put the ball in the back of the net, which is why they've gone out and spent big [on Rhian Brewster]. They were brilliant, a breath of fresh air with the football they played - they weren't intimidated, they weren't scared, but they've got to find the balance between being solid at the back and putting the ball in the back of the net.

It's a huge gamble to pay that much money for Brewster, but it's a big ask for him to come in with so much resting on his shoulders. I probably wouldn't score goals in this Sheffield United side.

Goodness me, Championship Manager stole months of my life at one point. Will never forget taking a week off work, so that I could 'properly focus' on my pre-season transfer activity. Allessandro Del Piero was my best buy for Tottenham. Absolute goal machine.

Look away now, Sheffield United, Burnley and Fulham fans.

Only four clubs have ever avoided relegation after picking up one point or fewer after seven games in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace had no points after seven games in 2017-18, while Southampton (in 1998-99), Newcastle (in 1999-2000) and Sunderland (in 2013-14) each had one.

"It will be tough today as I know as I watch them more than frequently."

Nitin Kamath: Why don't Manchester City play someone from the academy as a striker during the injury crisis? That's how we unearthed a certain Marcus Rashford.

Simon Buckley: Today’s teams have a cost of €100m v €650m. One of the biggest mismatches in Premiership history?

  12. Maradona almost a Blade?published at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

It almost happened. No, seriously. The story goes that then Blades boss Harry Haslam went out to scout a then 17-year-old Diego in the late 1970s and was so impressed he set up a £200,000 deal with Argentinos Juniors. However, it fell through because United apparently wouldn't pay extra on top. They signed Alex Sabella instead.

Hard to think what Maradona would have made of south Yorkshire? Not sure he'd have been quite as carefree in his warm-up when the sleet is lashing into face.

We've already had one game of round six, with Wolves moving up to sixth courtesy of a pretty comfortable 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.

France Under-21 left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side Angers, scored on his debut to help Wanderers to victory. Portuguese winger Daniel Podence grabbed the second, with Palace's Luka Milivojevic was shown a red card for a tackle on Joao Moutinho in the closing stages.

The former Manchester United player had prostate cancer and advanced dementia.

The best thing about getting the flu in 1998 was being able to take a week off college to play this for 21hr a day guilt-free. Bed at 3am. Wake at 6am. Rinse. Repeat.

Replying to the text at 12:27, yes it was a dream mate because Arsenal won the doublé. Keeping dreaming...

Michael Owen had a bug, sometimes he'd be 35 at the start of a new game, sometimes 25 but never as prolific as in real life. The main man was of course.......Sean Dundee! £1m and worth about £35m 3 years later.

Sean Dundee very much from the Bakayoko school of players who fell well short of their CM class in reality.

  20. City's stuttering startpublished at 12:02 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2020

Sheffield United v Man City (12:30 GMT)

Manchester City's total of eight points from five games is their lowest at this stage of a season since 2014-15.

It's Pep Guardiola's worst start as a manager after five league games of a season, while the fewest points his sides have earned after six league fixtures is 13.

City have conceded as many as eight league goals after five matches for the first time since 2006-07 - and they could fail to score more than once in four successive Premier League games for the first time under Guardiola.
