Have to say it, because no one has mentioned it this match yet, but kudos to the Saints for having the best kit of any PL team this season (if not ever).

And it's another good save! Joao Moutinho fizzes in the free-kick, Daniel Podence guides a header on target and Alex McCarthy gets a strong left hand on it to claw it over.

What a run from Adama Traore! Just blasts past two men like an NFL running back, so quick off the mark. He goes at number three, I thought Jannik Vestergaard made a decent tackle but a free-kick is given and this is dangerous.

Southampton looking dangerous again as Che Adams gets a shot away but Willy Boly shuts him off.

As a Saints fan I wanted that to be a penalty. But as a football fan I don't know if that's a penalty, seen them given and not given and just generally confused what is a penalty these days!

We can't forget the past. We won the cup in 1976 and we don't want to forget that. The 0-9 was the making of this team, and hopefully the faith the board showed in Ralph in the aftermath will be the reason he doesn't run off quickly to one of the bigger boys

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Ahhh what a chance! A cracking move to be honest as Oriol Romeu fizzes a pass into Che Adams, he's able to take a touch and slide in Stuart Armstrong. He's made a great run from midfield, is on the stretch but gets there and pokes a shot across goal... and wide!

Decent from Adama Traore as Wolves get him on the ball high up the pitch for once. He weaves into traffic but is able to put the ball back onto his right foot and hit an early shot which takes a deflection and is well saved by Alex McCarthy.

A whole new ball game for Willy Boly tonight. I bet he's just discovered that Rui Patricio can speak.

Game's gone a bit flat now to be honest. We need a goal.

Real shame there's no fans in for this one. Molineux would be rocking tonight, with both sets of fans excited about where their seasons could be heading!

Wily Boly will have a new lease of life tomorrow with his hearing restored (relieved?) in Conor Coady's absence. Wonder if he can now hear the wind?

As that Southampton free-kick was cleared there was half a shout for handball against Nelson Semedo - it did bounce into his arm/side but nothing was given.

Leander Dendoncker could have gone into the defence too, or Nelson Semedo with Adama Traore playing as a wing-back. The tweak has allowed Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho to play alongside each other again in the middle though which has to be good news, right?

Southampton free-kick in a dangerous spot, JWP's delivery is spot on as ever but Wolves clear.

It's interesting to see the change of system. Over the last few seasons we have got used to Wolves with those three centre-halves. They could have gone with a back-three tonight - Marçal is on the bench, he played there for Lyon on the left-hand side.

Conor Coady had completed 90 minutes in 84 consecutive Premier League games prior to today, which is the third longest such run for an outfielder in the competition...

The longest? Wayne Bridge did it 112 times in 2003....

Maybe Theo Walcott will make it as a Premier League striker in the second 15 years of his career. He's started really well, running in smartly behind and he's found by a cracking pass from Stuart Armstrong.

Slid in, he shoots low across goal but it's close enough to Rui Patricio to make it a routine save.

It's just that final touch for both teams. They have both had opportunities and have been sloppy in possession.

Willy Boly apparently played a double-header against Madagascar in the international break. Pretty mad when we can't get a haircut, but there you go. Wolves are bossing possession now after that slow start.

Decent opening to this one - Southampton now attack sharply and Che Adams' backheel is a good one but is cut out well.
