    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

On the replay that looked like Oriol Romeu got a touch on the ball so that should not have been a free-kick.

But that save...big left shoulder. You would think that should have been scored but brilliant goalkeeping from Alex McCarthy.

    It's 4-3-3 v 4-4-2. No Coady, no back three.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 6 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Oh what a save that is! Joao Moutinho hits the free-kick into the wall and it runs to Nelson Semedo, 22 yards out. He nails a low shot on target, Alex McCarthy makes a good save to push it away and then makes a frankly superb save on the follow-follow-up, getting a shoulder to Leander Dendoncker's shot and pushing it over.

The Belgian thought he had scored!

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

It's been all Southampton but one swipe of the foot from Ruben Neves is enough to free Daniel Podence down the left. He's rapid, runs inside and is fouled in a dangerous area.

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Perhaps unsurprisingly that Wolves defence looks a bit of a mess. First Ryan Bertrand's cross causes alarm and then, from a short Saints corner, Bertrand again almost floats a cross in at the far post and it's headed out.

Willy Boly will have to get used to playing without constant Scouse chatter in his ear.

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Theo Walcott immediately bursts through the middle of the Wolves defence but it's cleared. Looks like Wolves may be playing a back four which is unheard of in the times of Nuno.

Allan Done: Wolves have not yet played a Prem Saturday match this season and have to wait until December 5th before they do so. Is this a record?

    Wolves v Southampton (20:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Southampton showed they could cope without Danny Ings when they brushed Newcastle aside before the international break. This is a much sterner test, however.

Saints are not just well-organised, they are forward-thinking. I really like the way they look to move the ball forward, get people in wide areas and stretch the opposition.

But they are up against Wolves, who are a really canny team and have got a bit of class too.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side very rarely have off nights. Yes, they keep things very tight but they are what I would call a probing team. Once they find a weakness, they are in.

    Prediction: 2-0

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend: "When you are 1-0 down you are the team that has more possession. Burnley are similar to us when they go 1-0 up, they are difficult to break down. We created a lot of chances but we could not get through them and they deserve the three points in the end.

"Any time you play Burnley they are well set up and well-drilled in a 4-4-2. If you don't score the first goal you know it is going to be a very long night because they defend so well.

"We created chances but weren't clinical. Nick Pope is an England international. you expect him to make top saves. We were pushing, throwing everything at them creating carnage but we could not get that all important goal.

"If we have aspirations of finishing in the top 10 these are the games you have to be winning."

  16. 'You always miss your quality players'published at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2020

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to BBC Sport: "Statistics don't win matches, you win matches by scoring goals and not conceding them and that is what Burnley did.

"We gave them a bit of a free hit to go 1-0 up but after that, in particular in the second half, we took the game to them and played quite well. We would have been worthy I think of at least one goal but we couldn't get it. We couldn't find the last pass or shot to get the goal.

"You could argue conceding early gives you more time to get back into the game. They defend well, I think we did ourselves because there were not many chances for them. We had opportunities but the bottom line is opportunities are only good if you take them and we didn't take them.

"In the first half we were for too keen to play the ball back to the goalkeeper and play long balls forward under the pressure Burnley exert. The second half was a much better performance and as a result I am slightly frustrated that we are going away empty handed but congratulations to Burnley. When a team like them find themselves in the bottom three it doesn't take them long to climb out."

On missing Zaha: "You always miss your quality players but there is no guarantee he would have had a great game tonight, or taken the chances or opened up Burnley any more than other players did. It is a long season, we will get players back and let's hope we can put this defeat behind us and get winning again."

  17. 'We know how good Pope is'published at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2020

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Burnley

Burnley goalscorer Chris Wood speaking to Sky Sports: "It’s nice to get on the board. We have been working hard to try and put things right and thankfully today we did.

"Every goal is very nice so it’s nice to get on the board but even more important that three ponts came and it was a fantastic performance from the defence.

"Jay [Rodriguez] did exactly what we ask of players coming in trying to take a shirt off other players. He has done fantastically well. I thought his work ethic and drive and desire deserved a goal.

"We saw it out well and got the points in the end. We know how good Nick Pope is. He is pushing Jordan Pickford for that number one spot for England."

  19. 'We started a bit too late'published at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2020

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought we played well second half. An unfortunate first goal, a misplaced header but apart from that we didn't allow them many chances to score a goal. In the second half they stood firm and held out for their victory.

"An error like that is always a possibility, you have to accept it and then you've got the rest of the game to put it right but we started a bit too late."

Lacking a bit in the final third? "That's all teams. That's even teams of Manchester City's quality, let alone Crystal Palace's. I can't ask more in terms of effort and determination I am just disappointed we started a bit late. The longer the game went on the closer we got to that equaliser."

On missing Zaha: "You always miss your quality players, we are missing our captain as well and James McCarthy so when there are three players of that quality out of course you miss them but there's not much you can do about that."
