Thomas Hollern: Well I live in the Burnley area, which will no doubt be Tier 3, which means no fans allowed at Turf Moor. Based on tonight I don't think that's a bad thing.

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche speaking to BBC Sport: “We were showing signs. That’s three clean sheets in the last five games and tonight we altered how we were operating in the attacking third.

“We created two or three golden chances, we take one and it gets a bit nervy because we hadn’t found that first win so to get that one done will do us the world of good.

"We mixed it and asked questions and found a moment that counted. If that golden moment for Johann goes in the feel of the game changes – we have control of it. But our lads saw out the game well.

"We know they have people who can shoot from distance. Nick Pope made a good save in the first half but that one at the end was brilliant. But he is a top keeper. He’ll be absolutely fine.

"We have got more people coming back fit. Unfortunately we lost Robbie Brady there. But that gives you more strength in depth. We have got a group that can challenge. We have had a tough start but that has been coming."

    Wolves v Southampton (20:00 GMT)

Wolves have kept an unsurpassed 13 Premier League clean sheets in 2020.

Each of their last nine league wins have been achieved without conceding a goal.

They are unbeaten in 22 home fixtures against teams outside the established top six since a 2-0 defeat by Crystal Palace in January 2019.

    Wolves v Southampton (20:00 GMT)

I've just spent the last five minutes trying to diagnose where a weird crackling sound was coming from in my office. Checked every lead and turned some stuff on or off - but I can now confirm that it's something down the line from Molineux. That's a relief.

Who do you make favourites here? Portugal B or Southampton?

Alphonse Rawlinson: Well Crystal Palace, you've been Burnleyed... We've all been there..

Dr David: These days you’d normally wait until 12-13 games to get a good idea of how the table will shape up, but I don’t see anyone else from 14th down getting sucked into a relegation scrap.

Conor Coady is not in action tonight, ending an ever-present run stretching back more than two years.

The central defender and captain had played every minute of Wolves' 84 league games since they were promoted back to the top flight in 2018, the third-longest such run for an outfield player in Premier League history.

Theo Walcott is playing up front tonight, getting his wish after a solid 15 years of asking.

He's just talked Moussa Djenepo through a fairly lengthy chat, the gist of which seemed to be 'hit me over the top' if his hand signals were anything to go by.

Test that Wolves defence - which is without the skipper tonight.

Awful game, two terrible teams! Neither team deserve to stay up on that performance.

    Wolves v Southampton (20:00 GMT)

    Southampton

Southampton will move up to third if they win today, two points off top.

They could win four consecutive Premier League games for the first time since May 2016.

Only Manchester United earned more Premier League away points in 2020 than the 24 by Saints (at the start of this weekend).

Cheers Emlyn and hello to you all.

That game wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting but still largely dull. Plenty of attacking players on display in game #2 - goals?

That's my stint over now with that Burnley-Crystal Palace classic. Tom Rostance is going to take over for what you would hope will be a high-quality game.

    Bye now.

    Burnley

Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez: "We needed to get on the scoresheet, it was a great team goal and it is something to build on.

"I love playing football, that is why I work day in and day out in training. To play and help the team is great."

Burnley's previous Premier League win was in July against Norwich.

Matt: RE 19:09 - by that logic, it's also unfair that a team from Newcastle has a larger fan base than say Blackburn, due to the population size of the town\city. That's a nonsense argument. Get as many fans into as many games as is safely possible, it's simple.

  16. 'A team of leaders'published at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2020

    Burnley 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Jermaine Beckford
Ex-Leeds Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

I would expect [that to be a turning point for Burnley]. That was a brilliant performance. The second half they were not quite as a clean and crisp as the first half. The first half they were brilliant. It looked like a team of leaders.

  17. Postpublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2020

Terrible touch by Christian Benteke! Terrible.

Burnley's defence somehow let him free from Patrick van Aanholt's through-ball but he shows far too much of it to a defender and the chance is gone.
