Neal Maupay has the ball inside the Southampton box but he's quickly crowded off the ball.

The visitors are well aware of the threat he poses.

Nathan Redmond then gets his first few touches of the ball but Mat Ryan is out quickly as Saints try the quick ball over the top.

The returning Nathan Redmond replaces Theo Walcott, who on the whole has done well for the visitors tonight.

Ah, Pascal Gross should do better there!

Tariq Lamptey causes problems down the right and lays the ball into the path of Gross at the second attempt, but the resulting shot is poor and off target.

Mat Ryan punches the initial cross clear but Stuart Armstrong sends the ball back in from the right and Danny Ings almost conjures something from nothing, repositioning himself at the last minute to send a glanced header narrowly over the bar.

It was a lovely touch from Ings to release Armstrong. Walcott is not far away there.

Both sides are battling hard at the Amex. This really could go either way.

Southampton move the ball forward to Theo Walcott, who unleashes a lovely, whipped shot from outside the penalty area which isn't far away at all. Good attempt.

Agree with that, Conor. Plenty to admire in both these sides.

A perfectly timed opinion, as Lewis Dunk goes into the book for a strong challenge on Che Adams.

Danny Welbeck is back involved in the action, swivelling to set Solly March away on the left, but March can't pick out a team-mate in the middle.

It's a shame. That was a slick move by the hosts.

He's up and seems fine to continue.

I think that challenge needed to be made by Romeu. Pascal Gross was about to play that killer pass into Danny Welbeck to put him in on goal.

Oriol Romeu concedes a free-kick and receives a booking right at the start of the second half.

Pascal Gross whips it in towards Lewis Dunk but Southampton are awarded a free-kick after a shove in the box.

Not sure we expected Danny Ings to be reintroduced so early, but here he is and he is undoubtedly a player who can make the difference for Southampton tonight.

Moussa Djenepo was walking a fine line on his yellow card.

Earlier this evening the qualifying groups were drawn for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with England facing Robert Lewandowski's Poland.

They will also play Hungary, Albania, Andorra and San Marino in Group I.

Wales will meet Belgium, Northern Ireland have drawn Italy, while Scotland face Denmark and Austria.
