    Brighton 1-1 Southampton

The header which cancelled out Pascal Gross' spot-kick in all its glory.

Only Kurt Zouma (4) has scored more Premier League goals among defenders this season than Jannik Vestergaard (3) after that.

And it leaves this game completely up for grabs in the second half.

I think Brighton started better and got their reward.

The nature of Southampton's goal will be a massive disappointment to Graham Potter. Brighton will feel unlucky to go in at 1-1.

I may be getting carried away here, Wayne, but if anyone had tried to stop that Jannik Vestergaard header going in, they might have ended up in the net with it...

Adam Webster heads wide from a free-kick from deep as Brighton try to force a response before the whistle.

But that's the last of the action in the first half. One apiece.

It is a great header from the great Dane. Mat Ryan has no chance.

You could argue that a man on the post might have stopped it but take nothing away from Vestergaard.

    Leveller!

That is a BULLET of a header by Jannik Vestergaard.

Nobody got near him as he rose to meet James Ward-Prowse's set-piece.

What a time for Southampton to find the equaliser as well.

It's not often you see a number three pulling strings in midfield, but Ben White has looked solid alongside Yves Bissouma in the centre for Brighton.

Just Pascal Gross' penalty between these two as we edge towards the interval.

Che Adams attempts to work something down the left but can't find a pass inside. The frustration continues for Saints in the final third.

Brighton have been the better side. they have been more aggressive and got to the ball first. Southampton have not found their rhythm. You just wonder if the manner of their defeat to Manchester United has affected them.

Mat Ryan punches a James Ward-Prowse corner clear and again Brighton manage to force their way back up the pitch.

Southampton are struggling to create chances - but equally they can't risk throwing men forward against such speedy opposition.

There have been nine penalties taken in Brighton's Premier League games this season (five for and four against).

That's the joint-most in the competition with Liverpool and Leicester.

Nothing doing from that corner for Brighton. The hosts are playing the better stuff at the minute and are preventing Southampton from finding some rhythm.

It was an important block from James Ward-Prowse. Lamptey is lightning quick over those first few yards.

It's an unfortunate one for Southampton. James Ward-Prowse's hand is not in a natural position and it's a penalty. That was a confident penalty from Pascal Gross.
