Greg Taylor gets in behind the visiting defence but the ball is getting away from him as he lunges after it. Keeper Danny Rogers comes sliding out to make sure there is no danger and there may be contact between the two, but it's certainly not the penalty the Celtic full-back is asking for.

    Celtic 0-0 Kilmarnock

  13. Trio deserve to play - Lennonpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    Celtic v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon says his fringe players have "earned the right" to stay in the team with their Europa League performances.

"They gave us a much-needed boost in energy and deserve to play again," Lennon tells BBC Sportsound.

"David Turnbull was outstanding, Conor Hazard looked a very accomplished goalkeeper and Ismaila Soro had a great game.

"It was difficult leaving out the likes of Scott Brown, Tom Rogic and Ryan Christie, but the others have earned the right play.

"We have catching up to do and performances to put in. We got a boost on Thursday against a very good side and want to carry that on today."

  14. No room for error if Celtic aim to catch rampant Rangerspublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    Celtic v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Are Celtic showing green shoots of recovery after a drastic slump?

Having claimed a first win in five games with Europa League success over Lille in midweek, attention turns back to the domestic stage.

Rangers' win at Tannadice leaves the champions 16 points adrift, so how will they respond?

Neil Lennon's side have stumbled to back-to-back league draws, and dropped points in four of their last five outings. Victory today is surely a must to revive fading title hopes.

    FT: Dundee United 1-2 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard does not think Alfredo Morelos should have been shown a red card for his elbow on Mark Connolly in the first half at Tannadice.

He admits he has not seen the incident again but believes it deserved no more than a yellow at the time.

As for the striker's disappointment at being substituted after another game without a goal, he tells Sky Sports: "He is maybe lacking a bit of confidence, but as long he keeps working hard and getting chances, he will be scoring again."
