  1. Tavernier's finish 'world class' - Gerrardpublished at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    FT: Dundee United 1-2 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has described James Tavernier's opening goal against United as "world class".

"His form since the start of the season has been sensational," he tells Sky Sports. "To get the ball to dip with that amount of power from that distance, it doesn't matter who you are, it is a world-class finish.

"That was our third game in a busy week and I didn't expect us to be perfect. I am proud of the performance.

"Sometimes you have to win ugly and I thought we did that. We had a few issues from crosses - and it was a great finish from the Dundee United lad - but we didn't feel sorry for ourselves and got the three points. It's all positive."

    Celtic v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Celtic have been watching Thomas Robert "very closely", says BBC reporter Chick Young. But there are a long list of clubs keeping tabs on the 20-year-old Frenchman, who is on a one-year deal at Airdrieonians.

The son of former Newcastle star Laurent has also been scouted by Southampton, Middlesbrough, Derby County, Hull City and Luton Town, according to Chick.

  3. Flashback to Boli follypublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2020

    Celtic v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Kilmarnock have lost their last four trips to Celtic Park - last winning there in 2012 - but held Neil Lennon's men to a 1-1 draw at home four months ago in the sides' only previous meeting this season.

Ryan Christie's opener was cancelled out by a Chris Burke penalty in a game has since gone down in infamy for Boli Bolingoli's late appearance off the bench.

The full-back had gone on a secret trip to Spain days earlier and breached Covid protocols by failing to quarantine on his return.

The fallout ended with Celtic having two games postponed and Boli landing a three-game ban before sent shunted out on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir.

It's a great pick out. Scott Arfield could've clipped it to Kemar Roofe, but opts to shoot and Connolly does well.

Benjamin Siegrist gets a glove on a low, angled strike from Scott Arfield and the keeper's touch takes it away from Alfredo Morelos inside the six yard box.

    Quote Message

It's invitingly fallen for Connor Goldson. I think he's trying to lift it to get it over the bodies and into the roof of the net, but it's well over the bar.

  19. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Dundee United 1-2 Rangers

The home side just can't get out of their own half and Rangers are winning free-kick after free-kick in midfield.

From another set-piece, the ball falls to the feet of Connor Goldson and the big centre-half smashes a shot over the top from eight yards.

The net should have been bulging there.

  20. Goldson grappled to the groundpublished at 58 mins

    Dundee United 1-2 Rangers

Connor Goldson can't get on the end of this cross from James Tavernier and that's because Mark Connolly has his arms wrapped round the Rangers defender.

Connolly is lucky the officials didn't spot that.
