I don't think Norwich fans would be up for that.

Shevchenko, Sutton, Torres, Werner - what is it with Chelsea and 'sure-fire' striker signings?

I know it's early but after watching a lot of Bundesliga games last season I was convinced Werner would be a smash hit in the Premier League.

At this stage I would swap Timo Werner for Teemu Pukki.

That defeat leaves Fulham in the third relegation spot - a four-point cushion between then and Burnley now.

Still one game to come tonight of course.

Sho: Robinson cost his team today with that idiotic tackle in the first half. Completely changed the game. Fulham getting at least a draw today if they had 11 in the second half.

Gbadero T'Oluwalope: Timo Werner isn't gonna help the pressure on him by consistently missing sitters, will he? He's got to be doing better than this, he is better than this.

Scott Parker isn't overly happy with the officials as they converge on the pitch. Antonee Robinson's red card the likely talking point.

The miss doesn't matter! Chelsea see off the 10-men of Fulham for a first win in four.

  8. CLOSE!published at 90+4 mins

    Fulham 0-1 Chelsea

    Oh what a chance!

Fulham have a free-kick and overload the box with attackers. Chelsea counter, Timo Werner plays a one two on the halfway line and he's away and gone. The whole half to run into, he powers into the area, out comes the keeper...

Wide! And a long way wide too. Confidence is low in this one.

Good play from Christian Pulisic to get away down the Chelsea left, he cuts it back, beyond his strikers but it does find Cesar Azpilicueta backing up. He opens up his body, sidefoots in the shot from the edge of the area - but lofts it miles over.

FIVE minutes to be added on. Hope for Fulham although Chelsea have won a corner.

Cesar Azpilicueta is caught by another flying Fulham man, this time it's Ademola Lookman and this time it's a booking.

Chelsea finding space now as Fulham try and engineer some sort of attack, Mateo Kovacic finds Timo Werner, who looks for Tammy Abraham - who treads on the ball.

Mason Mount has scored in back-to-back appearances for Chelsea in all competitions for only a second time, and first since August 2019.

Rayan Mount: Cometh the hour, Cometh Mount

Ben: Look at that passion from Mount. There can be no debate about his talent and contributions to the club after this. One goal, and nearly had another after hitting the crossbar first half.

    Fulham 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea have scored 11 goals in the final 15 minutes of Premier League games this season (level with Leicester) - no side has scored more in the division.

That's a big tick in the Frank Lampard managerial box isn't it? Fulham are making a double switch now. Hard to make a case for them getting bacak into this now though.

Alphonse Areola has made some good saves tonight but could he have done better with that cross?

Chelsea will go seventh with a win here - one point behind Tottenham.

    Mason Mount (78 mins)

    Breakthrough!

Chelsea didn't really look like scoring at all but they find a way through. Ben Chilwell does well around the back to stand up a cross, Alphonse Areola chooses to palm it away, gets plenty on it but can only flap it straight to Mason Mount.

Mount has got two men between him and the goal but threads a low, powerful drive between them and into the back of the net.

Huge relief on the Chelsea bench.

Hackers: Surely Roman is looking at this with one finger on the trigger. It's simply not good enough. Lampard doesn't know his best team, formation and most often comes second best in the tactical battle.

Katvik: Ziyech is the best CHE player on the pitch. Pulisic is a shadow of itself, Azpi is dreadful.
