  1. 'I won't say I was blown away with the performance' - Lampardpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Fulham 0-1 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard speaking to BBC's MOTD:"Fulham have got good recent results. Tough to beat and dangerous in attack. The challenge against 10 men was different.

"You want to take advantage of the situation. A month ago we were flying high, then since then we've struggled. It's a challenge even a man down. We got the goal though and could have got more.

Lack of confidence affection the team? "Maybe a bit. That's normal in football. But every team are having phases of form. Within that you get individuals short of form. We've got talent at the top end and it's my job to sort that out.

"Perfection is not an easy thing to get. I won't say I was blown away with the performance. There were lots of bits I was happy with, but we won't get too ahead of ourselves."

  2. 'You get a couple of chances and they need to go in'published at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Fulham 0-1 Chelsea

    Fulham

Fulham manager Scott Parker, speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought we started the game very compact, got a foothold in it just before the sending off and had a massive chance for Ivan Cavaleiro. That has to go in.

"You get to 78 minutes and you're playing the clock and hoping to see it through.

"I've got nothing but admiration for my players. To go up against a team of the quality of Chelsea, to show the commitment and the way we played under difficult circumstances, was pretty remarkable.

"You're relying on a couple of chances and they need to go in. That wasn't to be and the sending-off down to 10 men meant it was difficult."

On whether he thought Antonee Robinson should have been sent off: "I've not seen it back. At the time I didn't think it, but I wouldn't want to comment without looking back at it.

"Antonee is disappointed, obviously. It's that balance between being committed and aggressive. But if it is reckless then he has done it and needs to learn. He's a young lad and he's been superb.

"I don't want to knock that commitment out of us."

    Leicester 1-0 Southampton

    And that's half time.

    Leicester 1-0 Southampton

Harvey Barnes runs in behind the Saints defence and just can't find Jamie Vardy with his cutback.

  7. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Leicester 1-0 Southampton

Leicester have a perfect record in matches they took the lead in in this Premier League season: W11-D0-L0.

You can't argue with that. With Manchester United playing Liverpool tomorrow as well, a win here would keep them right in the mix at the top.

  8. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Leicester 1-0 Southampton

Harvey Barnes now slashes a shot wide on the run. High energy end to the half.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 42 mins

    Leicester 1-0 Southampton

And very nearly an immediate response from Ryan Bertrand!

James Ward-Prowse plays him in, the left-back nails his shot at great pace but Kasper Schmeichel is able to tip it over the top.

    Fine effort.

  11. goal

GOAL - Leicester 1-0 Southamptonpublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    James Maddison (37 mins)

    Fine goal!

Leicester have the opener and it's a brilliant one. Youri Tielemans plays a neat ball around the corner and James Maddison rolls Jack Stephens to run in on goal.

He's on the right of the area though and has a horrible angle so just puts his head down and leathers the ball into the roof of the net. Batistuta style.

Caps it off with a nice nod to socially-distant celebrations, waving his teammates away and shaking hands with the air.

There is a sighter for Jamie Vardy though, another good low ball in from Marc Albrighton picks him out and he completely misses the ball.

  13. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

I may have gone too early when I said this was a decent watch. They are two well-matched sides anyway. Leicester haven't been able to get the game-changer Jamie Vardy into the game at all.

  14. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Thanks for clearing that up Tom.

We're not going to get nine goals tonight, anyway, unless it gets really busy. Ibrahima Diallo is harshly pinged for a foul on James Maddison in midfield.

Chris Lane: 9-0 is nothing, Leicester lost 12-0 in 1909 and nobody mentions that!

Diggers: Yeah we know we conceded 9 in a Premier League game Tom. Liverpool conceded 7 against Villa this season but they don't get that rammed down their throats every time they play.

Tom: Everyone goes on about Leicester beating Saints 9-0, but in the same season Saints beat Leicester 2-1 and they also won the 3 points. That’s same amount of points Leicester got for winning 9-0

  16. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Che Adams and Theo Walcott link up nicely again - they are one good final pass away from breaking through the Leicester backline here.

After a stodgy opening 15 minutes this game is a decent watch.

  17. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

It's warming up alright! Che Adams powers into the area and drives in a shot that Kasper Schmeichel is equal to, turning it away.

    Adams looking a threat now.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Better from Leicester, real nice as Marc Albrighton gets the ball on the edge of the area, squares it, Jamie Vardy lets it run and Harvey Barnes slaps in a shot that is hard but straight at Alex McCarthy.

Much better zip to Leicester's game there. Southampton then nearly set Theo Walcott at the other end. Signs of life.

Lil: I wish people would stop mentioning the 9-0 score. Anyone would think Saints were still that bad.

Saints now have a long injury list. A point today would be a decent return.

Danger! Southampton send Che Adams away, he looked offside but he was inside his own half. Great run from the forward, who drives into the box on the right and tries to cut it back.

A combo of Kasper Schmeichel, Jonny Evans and Youri Tielemans get in his way.
