  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 47 mins

    Manchester City 1-0 Crystal Palace

Another delicious ball from Kevin de Bruyne, whipped out to Raheem Sterling who has started this half on the right instead of the left. He jinks inside Tyrick Mitchell and then goes down in the middle of three defenders.

Nothing given, there's no appeal from Sterling to be fair. I think he just fell over.

Here come the sides. Every Palace sub was going through an intensive warm-up at the break but I don't think we're getting an immediate switch.

They're very much still in the game of course.

Crystal Palace are looking to become the first team to win away against both Manchester clubs (City and United) in a single Premier League season since Liverpool in 2008-09.

The last London club to do so in the top-flight were Arsenal in 1990-91.

  6. 'Space for improvement'published at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2021

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "The performance was good and the first half was exceptionally good.

"In the first half hour we were outstanding and maybe should have done it, but we didn't.

"With all the things that were said before the game - United are flying and we were struggling - and then to play this kind of game I was happy with that.

"We tried in the second half again, but you cannot deny United over 90 minutes, not with the counter attacking threat they have. So they had two really good chances, I have to say, but we had our chances in the second half as well.

"We played football, tried to do it, forced them back in their own box. The worst thing you can face in football is to play against a side with world class players and they all defend with all they have. It is really difficult, the biggest challenge

"The way we understood the game, the way we felt the game, the way we read the moments were really good. But it is not exactly how it should be so we have space for improvement, absolutely. We will keep working on that."

It's a pleasure to watch Kevin de Bruyne first hand, he had no right to deliver a pass like that. It's a controlled, steady performance from City who've had all the possession and should've maybe had a bit more opportunity at the top of the pitch.

Credit to Palace they've tried to be organised without key players - but City have taken that control in this first half.

Gary Cahill and Gabriel Jesus tangle after a slip from the Brazilian, both are in a bit of pain but both are going to be OK. Raheem Sterling then races down the left of the box and cuts a pass back but a striped shirt clears.

    Almost lovely.

It was coming, the opportunity before with Kevin de Bruyne, you don't ask him twice. Outside of his right foot, it's a brilliant ball in right to the centre of the box. Stones rises and just glances the header into the far right corner he runs off with delight. It's all about the pass, sensational de Bruyne.

WHAT a ball in! Outrageous really.

Kevin de Bruyne's corner is nodded out, the ball is whipped out to KDB once more on the right wing. Instead of moving the ball out on to the arc of his right foot he just hammers it across goal with the outside of his boot instead.

It curls in towards goal, John Stones climbs well and smashes in a header which is remarkably his first league goal for the club.

City clicking into gear. Joel Ward takes a bad touch, Raheem Sterling slides in Kevin de Bruyne on the right, he pops it back into the middle but Ward recovers well to make the block.

    Corner!
