Liverpool look like they are just not going to score tonight and that's because the crossing hasn't been great, the finishing hasn't been top drawer and defensively Burnley have been excellent.

    Liverpool 0-1 Burnley

Alisson is up for a corner. He leaps to try and meet the delivery but is beaten to the ball. Still Liverpool come, with their number one in the box, but the away side are in no mood to give any ground. A foul on a Clarets man gives them time to breathe. Dyche's lads are edging to a big, big win.

Amazing how many bodies Burnley have got back in a line in front of Nick Pope as protection. Very, very good.

Dwight McNeil almost seals it. His shot has Alisson diving but it drifts past the near post. We are into injury time.

Jeff Wah: Yet another awful Liverpool performance. Forget the title - they won't even finish Top Six at this rate!

Chris Mitchell: Credit to Trent Alexander-Arnold. He’s doing everything he can to play James Justin into the England squad for Euro 2021.

This is no longer a dip in form, it's a collapse. Lots of work needed to rescue this season.

Another big Burnley block. Alexander-Arnold fires a low cross-shot that Firmino is able to divert goalwards but not into the goal thanks to a defender's boot.

So many times Liverpool have chipped an aimless little dinked cross straight on to a Burnley head in the box.

Trent Alexander-Arnold just hasn't been in it tonight. His passing, his movement, it just hasn't been there.

Two minutes of normal time to go. The Liverpool response to that goal has failed to materialise so far.

Khan Karn: There's not even any contact there. How is that a penalty?

Qaisar: Title just slipped away with that penalty hitting the back of the net.

    Ashley Barnes

    Scored!

Huge goal. Just huge. At both ends of the table.

Liverpool have stumbled and stuttered going forward, lacking ideas, and now they've been breached by a cool, calm spot kick from Barnes.

Seven minutes to go. Can the Clarets complete the job?

Oh, my. Oh wow. Pigeons, say hello to a big old cat. Ashley Barnes wriggles free of Fabinho and is then taken out by Alisson. It's a penalty to Burnley. Massive moment...

David Ashworth: The sooner Jota is back the better. It's extremely frustrating as a Liverpool fan at the moment.

    Bowling Greggy: This is painful.

Based on their respective form, I'm really not looking forward to Spurs v Liverpool next week. Death by rubbish football!

No it is not. Nick Pope comes up with another answer, poking out a fist to punch away Alexander-Arnold's delivery.
