Liverpool have created a little bit more in terms of openings but without really, on too many occasions, giving Nick Pope too much to do.

It's all little passes in and out of men on the edge of the box but no killer final ball. Burnley are defending brilliantly and in numbers. Liverpool simply can't conjure anything.

Harish Lakka: Give credit to Burnley. Great defending so far. Closing spaces, crowded middle, good in the air. They are also good in transitions. Origi’s miss, will it come back to haunt? An upset on the cards?

Liverpool want a handball against Pieters in the box. If it did hit his arm it was right down by his side. VAR won't help them there.

The reason Firmino missed the moment the ball came to him, he opened up his body and once he did that, he was always going to hit it to the right, instead of just getting his knee over the ball and passing it into the net. Hit it miles wide.

Steve: This. Is. Woeful.

Another good opportunity for Liverpool goes begging. Burnley get in a mess playing out from the back to leave it four on four but from a pull back, Firmino slices his shot well wide.

The Clarets are carving out chances. Dwight McNeil gets the better of Thiago down the right and whips in a low cross that Gudmundsson is first to but fires wide of the near post.

Twenty minutes to go.

It was a great height for Alisson to save this but again, like Salah, I think Barnes has gone for the wrong angle.

Hearts in Liverpool mouths for a moment. Barnes is free in the box to chest down a cross and fire a shot that Alisson does superbly to save with one hand. The flag is up for offside but that is one almighty warning.

They're desperate to win this game are Liverpool. They might end up losing it.

Tristan in Hook Norton: Same old LFC. Drawing too many. 2018-19 only lost once and drew 7. Still lost out to City. This would be 8 draws 2 losses at halfway. No chance

Burnley's second substitution sees Johan Berg Gudmundsson come on for Robbie Brady. Fresh legs on the right of midfield.

Liverpool continue to press. Salah's low ball across the box is fired over under pressure from a defender by Sadio Mane.

Burnley are understandably dropping deeper and deeper, inviting Liverpool on. They have 25 minutes left to hang on.

It is so congested in that Burnley box. Every Liverpool pass has to be spot on to unlock the defence.

Great run by Wijnaldum. I thought he was going to hit it. I think Salah went for the wrong side but Pope did really well.

Oh, what a good save from Pope. Wijnaldum drives forward and sets up Salah for a whipped shot that is on target but fails to find it thanks to a reaction save from the Burnley keeper. He is having a hell of a game.

Interesting now for the two Burnley centre-backs because we know how deep Roberto Firmino will play, so what will they do? Will one come tight or will they just sit in?

Here they come. Off go Origi and Oxlade-Chamberlain, on come Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. The gang are all back together.
