It’s a clinical goal. Saint-Maximin’s touch into the area was excellent. He could have had the shot himself but finds Willock.
He just caresses it into the bottom corner. Wonderful pass, wonderful finish and a great start for Newcastle United.

Dream debut!
It is all about Allan Saint-Maximin, the Frenchman turning Jan Bednarek and zipping into the box.
He then has the composure to look up and pick out the run of Joe Willock and the on-loan Arsenal man can stroke in a finish into the net from 12 yards out.

Southampton are getting numbers forward early, with Redmond and Minamino supporting Ings and Adams.
Good positive play by the visitors.
Burnley 0-0 Brighton
Matt Lowton charges forward for Burnley and, as the defence backs off, he has a go at goal from distance but his effort is wide.

I'm really confused by the decision to overturn the Bednarek red card. The referee only gave a red card after going to see the monitor so it was determined he had made a clear and obvious error. How can that now be deemed wrong? Makes a mockery of VAR once again.

Che Adams down in the box after being shoved from behind by Joe Willock, but strike partner Danny Ings was offside in the build-up.
Five yards off and the flag stayed down.
*Sighhhhh*
Newcastle 0-0 Southampton
Rain is lashing down in the north east and the wind is really howling.
Might want to give the two goalkeepers an early test from range.
Get it to Jonjo Shelvey to hit.
Burnley 0-0 Brighton
Neal Maupay's shot deflects behind off Ben Mee and Brighton have a corner - the first of the game. It is played short before Alexis Mac Allister's ball in is cleared.
Newcastle 0-0 Southampton
An early booking for Jeff Hendrick, sliding in from behind on Takumi Minamino.
The Japan international's leg got trapped under the Newcastle man there and lucky it wasn't more serious.

The Southampton defence were very square there. It’s a great run by Wilson and Shelvey spots him.
It’s a wonderful finish but offside is the correct decision.
Newcastle 0-0 Southampton
It's only when a player suffers a nasty injury will that silly late flag rule be reversed.
I get it for tight decisions, yes keep it down, but why does it need to stay down when a player is two miles off and you can see that he is from the moon?
Burnley 0-0 Brighton
Matej Vydra is inside the box, the defence about 20 yards up field. The Burnley forward has to be offside but the flag stays down and Vydra tries to squeeze past Robert Sanchez from a tight angle but can't beat the Brighton keeper and now the flag goes up for offside.
Newcastle 0-0 Southampton
Callum Wilson in on goal and drills a confident finish past Alex McCarthy. Newcastle lead.
No. The late flag goes up and the replay shows he is clearly off.
Infuriating.
Newcastle 0-0 Southampton
Ahh, just doesn't catch it.
On-loan Joe Willock nods the ball down perfectly onto the right peg of Callum Wilson 12 yards out but the Newcastle striker scuffs his volley.
Burnley 0-0 Brighton
Dwight McNeil drives in a cross from the left as Burnley continue their decent start to the game but it is too close to Robert Sanchez. Moments later, Johann Gudmundsson sees his square ball cut out on the other side of the box.
Newcastle 0-0 Southampton
On-loan Liverpool man Takumi Minamino getting his first touch in a red Saints shirt, coming deep to collect the ball, spinning a defender and laying it off for James Ward-Prowse.
He'll need to push up to have any impact on this game.
Burnley 0-0 Brighton
Shot on target? I might allow it as Ben Mee loops a header from a free kick into Robert Sanchez's hands.
I wonder how many lookalikes Sean Dyche has clocked today?
Newcastle 0-0 Southampton
Southampton will be pleased to have man mountain Jannik Vestergaard back in defence.
The giant Dane looks like he could take on The Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
