Villa have had a really good season, Dean Smith has done a fantastic job. You see the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal below them, who don’t seem to be finding any sort of form.

With Villa’s games in hand they do have a chance to get into the European places, but you need to win those games. They’re coming thick and fast. If they do, they can get into the top six.

A cross bounces through the box and almost comes through Martin Odegaard but Emiliano Martínez comes off his line to pluck the ball from Odegaard's boot.

Mikel Arteta has his head in his hands for what feels like the 100th time in the last 10 minutes.

There's still hope for Arsenal to get something from this.

BIG chance for Martin Odegaard to get his first goal in English football as Bukayo Saka picks him out with a cutback but Odegaard sweeps over the bar. Both he and Mikel Arteta have their heads in their hands. That might have been Arsenal's moment.

Eayodele: I like Arteta but sincerely speaking Arsenal managerial job is to big for him to handle unless we are waiting for results in 5 years time.

Arsenal lose possession and Jack Grealish heads towards goal, feeds Ollie Watkins but the striker's low effort drifts just wide of the far post.

Aston Villa are finishing strongly and it is they who look most likely to get the next goal at the moment.

Mat Ryan may have conceded very early but he's been solid since and made a number of good saves, the latest of which sees him keep out a stinging effort from Jack Grealish.

It keeps Arsenal in it with just under 10 minutes to go...

Jacob Ramsey comes on for Ross Barkley for Aston Villa as they look to hold onto the win.

Willian is straight into the action as he tries to drive through on the left but he is denied by a great challenge from Matty Cash, who has been excellent today.
