The optimism of Gooners is truly heart warming. But to be like that you have to keep ignoring a defensive frailty which has persisted since Wenger.

    Alan, Horsham

As a head teacher, I can guarantee that every school across the UK will have a child trying to recreate that goal tomorrow.

    Ed, Bristol

Stop with the 'unlucky Arsenal - should be three up' nonsense..... hitting the post is a miss! It doesn't even count as a shot on target!

Spurs have already shown more attacking intent this half than the first. Gareth Bale carries the ball into the box and then crosses over a couple of team-mates in the middle.

    FT: Leicester 5-0 Sheffield United

    Sheffield United

Sheffield United caretaker manager Paul Heckingbottom speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra: “It was tough, it’s been the culmination of a tough few days for the players and staff, having lost a friend to me and many others and a leader to the boys.

“We’ve shared some really good times and you could see today that it has taken its toll.

“My responsibility is to do what is right by the players in the next few weeks. Part of that is not allowing any excuses, so as difficult as it is the players know that Chris and the rest of the staff wouldn’t have been happy with that and wouldn’t allow excuses going forward.

“We have to work hard now and just look forward to the remainder of the season.

“There is still a long way to go. We’ve got just under a quarter of the season left and are in the FA Cup, so still plenty of football to be played.”

On his role at the club: “I’m taking over the team until the end of the season, unless things change in that respect, and while the club organise their next move, it’s as simple as that.

“Chris brought me to the club, so from a personal point of view I miss him. People say it’s just football. We have to be professional, we know that, but certainly the impact Chris has had on this football club probably does magnify the emotions and the feelings that everyone is going through.

“Whoever the next manager is will be watching our performances from now until the end of the season. The players have to be selfish in the respect of it’s their careers, I am just here to try to help that. They have to look at trying to build or rebuild their careers as part of the next phase of Sheffield United.

On the future: “It’s tough, all the fans are feeling it. All the fans I have spoken to, a lot of them are heartbroken. But they have to look forward, they have to put their trust in the club, who are now going to take decisions to build and take the club forward.

“Everything comes to an end, but it’s really sad when it comes after a long period of success.”

I think that substitution was always going to happen because Nicolas Pépé was the only one out their warming up at half time.

Jose Mourinho will not be happy. He will think Tottenham got away with one in that first half because Arsenal should have been three goals up.

I think Arsenal have been outstanding but not taken their chances.

But all we are going to be talking about is Erik Lamela's 'rabona' goal.

It's a fantastic finish - and in a north London derby as well.

Arsenal have been by far the more impressive side. Erik Lamela's moment of genius is the one moment that has lifted Spurs above mediocrity.

The Gunners have been a threat throughout but have not had much luck until the deflection for the equaliser.

Mikel Arteta will be much happier than Jose Mourinho.

Jack: Lamela is hopeless with his right foot - hasn't completed a single pass with his right all season. Doesn't matter when you can rabona with your left like that!!

John: That's Lamela's second best rabona goal in a Spurs shirt.

Xanjori: Not like we didn't know Lamela has that in his locker, I recall him putting one into the top corner from outside the area a few years back!

Crazy half of football. Arsenal could have been out of sight, never mind drawing.

Most people will only be talking about the Lamela goal, though. Not often you see a Rabona nutmeg finish. Superb.

It was always coming and it was down that left-hand side again.

Gareth Bale has got to track back and help Matt Doherty out.

There were loads of warning signs for Tottenham that everything keeps coming down Arsenal's left-hand side.

Well, you can't say this isn't deserved.

Kieran Tierney buys himself a yard down the left and crosses low for Martin Odegaard to fire a first-time shot that finds the net via a slight deflection off Sergio Reguilon.

Not a bad time and opponent against whom to score your first Arsenal league goal.

Just like in the return fixture, arsenal will rue these missed chances and Spurs will capitalise on theirs
