    Arsenal 0-1 Tottenham

Saka wins Arsenal a corner. They have been doing much of the attacking since the goal. Before it too.

The corner is taken short and wasted as the cross, when it comes, hits the first man and then a foul ends the attack.

Well at least it wasn't a defensive error this time...

To be fair, Lamela has form with the old Rabona. Spurs fans will remember he scored with one against Asteras in the Europa League in 2014. That one was even further out than this.

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

    Arsenal 0-1 Tottenham

    Arsenal hit the woodwork again!

Cedric latches on to a loose ball and hammers a shot against the post.

Considering the balance of the game and chances for each side, it is a minor miracle it is 1-0 to Spurs.

    Calvar: Absolute filth by Lamela!

    Josh: Erik LaMessi

Anon: Utterly fantastic goal. I've always liked Lamela, even though he sometimes flatters to deceive. He's clearly having an on-day today.

I can't believe what I've just witnessed. It's one of the goals on the season.

It is a superb, superb, top-quality finish. It is world class!

Hahaha! Can you believe it?! That is ridiculous!

Erik Lamela has, I kid you not, just scored with an insane Rabona through a host of Arsenal players in the box!

It came after a period of possession - Spurs first real one in the game - and a driving run from Lucas Moura. The ball breaks to Lamela and he pulls out an outrageous bit of skill to send the ball into the far corner.

    Stunning.

Really poor opening half-hour from Spurs, not helped by that hamstring injury to Son Heung-min. Jose Mourinho has just stalked back to his seat from the technical area pulling a variety of faces - none of which suggested he is in the slightest bit satisfied.

Jose Mourinho is not happy every time Tottenham lose the ball.

Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele are talking to the coaching staff. I think he's not happy with the midfield.

Rob Millward: Why did I think an underperforming Arsenal against a defence-loving Spurs would be an entertaining watch?

You weren't alone, Rob. How many times are we going to fall for the hype?

Smith-Rowe is having a fine game.

He drives to the byline down the left and pulls the ball back for Lacazette in the box, but the striker can only stab an effort that eventually goes out for a throw.

Balders1977: Spurs starting as I hoped they wouldn’t. Giving Arsenal all the ball and territory. With this Spurs front 3 and and a shaky Arsenal defence what is Mourinho doing? He clearly hasn’t changed.

Son Heung-min departs and on comes Lamela.

They've been second best so far and now they've lost one half of their supremely efficient attacking pair.
