As Manchester City prepare to wave goodbye to Sergio Aguero, the big question for manager Pep Guardiola to answer is who will replace the Argentine forward?

Erling Braut Haaland is reportedly top of Pep's summer wish list, along with Tottenham striker Harry Kane, but the Spanish boss feels the fees currently being quoted are too high.

"I don't know what is going to happen but at these prices we are not going to buy any striker," Guardiola said.

"It's impossible. We cannot afford it. All the clubs are struggling financially, us as well.

"Today there is more chance we will not buy a striker next season."

Erling Braut Haaland has been scoring goals for fun at Borussia Dortmund this year.

So, could the 20-year-old Norwegian, who is currently being put in the shop window by his agent Mino Raiola, end up at Stamford Bridge next season?

Not according to Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

The Blues boss said: "He's a Borussia Dortmund player, and of course there's big news around him and his agent.

"And it seems like they are creating a race for the player.

"A very promising player of course, but with respect to the situation he's not in our squad, he's not in our club, so there's no comment on anything else regarding him."

Chelsea have not conceded in any of their past seven matches in all competitions, while West Brom have scored twice in the same number of games.

Nothing is really going to change about the way either side plays, so it is hard to look past a routine Blues win, with another clean sheet under Thomas Tuchel - who has not lost any of his 14 games in charge.

    Prediction: 2-0

"Performances have been good enough to give us better results but today is a massive test. Everything will have to be in place, we need to be at 100% to win this game.

"We are going man for man with the opposition, a similar shape to Chelsea."

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: "We took a breath but now is the moment to restart. It's never easy to have a break when you have good momentum but it is like this. The challenge is to restart the engines.

"We have picked the players who have trained with us for the last two days. Some guys played for their countries on Wednesday so they are not starting.

"I told Mason Mount it is a bad feeling for me to leave him out but he played all three games for England. He can play today, but that was my decision."

Chelsea make eight changes to the XI that started in 2-0 win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

French midfielder N'Golo Kante is out with a muscle injury, so Jorginho comes into the line-up.

Hakim Ziyech also comes back into the midfield, but there is no room for German Kai Havertz, who starts from the bench. Timo Werner is in.

Central defender Thiago Silva is fit again and returns to the backline.

Chelsea XI: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Zouma, James, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso, Ziyech, Pulisic, Werner.

Subs: Arrizabalaga, Rudiger, Christensen, Giroud, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Chilwell, Gilmour, Havertz.

Thomas Tuchel has an interesting take on how Timo Werner can overcome his goalscoring drought.

The striker, who joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for £47.5m in June, has scored twice in 31 games for club and country, and missed a key chance in Germany's loss to Macedonia on Wednesday.

For Tuchel, the 25-year-old is overthinking the issue like that of asking a woman out on a date.

He said: "You cannot force her to, you just step a little bit back and maybe she will call you up, so the goals will come.

"Don't overthink it. It is very easy for me to say because we aren't out there and everybody is pointing fingers at him, but this is the challenge right now."

Baggies' relegation battle more challenging than any before

Don't expect Sam Allardyce to dawdle if West Brom end up in the Championship next season.

The Baggies boss says his future at the club is a complex situation as his side prepares to face Chelsea today.

Allardyce says the terms of his contract are clear and if the Baggies survive, he will remain at The Hawthorns.

If the West Midlands side are relegated, however, then the former England manager will only stay if there is a realistic chance of promotion back to the top flight.

He said: "If I'm to stay at West Brom, I'd want to be getting them back in the Premier League at the first time of asking - like I did when I joined West Ham. I wouldn't want to mess about.

"But we all need to be going in the same direction to do that."
