  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:42 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Brentford 0-0 Cardiff City

Brentford so close to taking the lead through their main man Ivan Toney.

Aden Flint gets in a muddle for Cardiff and gifts a stray pass right into Toney's path to run on to in the box, he looks destined to tuck it away but Alex Smithies holds out a right hand that palms it behind for a corner.

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

This game hasn't been without errors but it's being played at a great pace.

If both these sides are in the Premier League next season I imagine a lot of their matches will be worth a watch.

  3. League Two previewpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

Leaders Cambridge United travel to play-off hopefuls Leyton Orient as they bid to hold off the challenge of second-placed Cheltenham Town, two points behind them with a game in hand.

The Robins are at mid-table Stevenage.

Bottom-of-the-table Grimsby Town need nothing less than a win against fourht-placed Morecambe to try and reduce their seven-point deficit to safety. Morecambe meanwhile are just a point off the automatic promotion places.

Ahead of them are Bolton, they host Carlisle United who are themselves just a couple of points out of the play-off places.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:38 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Norwich keeper Tim Krul makes an excellent double save to keep Watford out.

First the Netherlands international parries Ken Sema's effort and it falls to Ismaila Sarr, who is also denied by a mixture of Xavi Quintilla's block and Krul.

Colchester United v Southend United (19:00 BST)

If ever the cliche Relegation Six-Pointer was more apt than supporters of both Colchester United and Southend United might disagree.

The two Essex clubs meet this evening in a fixture that could be curtains in the EFL for whichever side loses.

Colchester are third from bottom, six points above second-from bottom Southend and both have four games to play.

Recently-returned Southend boss Phil Brown has dubbed it "probably the biggest" in the history of the club.

Defeat for Southend would see them all but relegated out of the EFL for the first time since 1920.

Colchester meanwhile are trying to extend their stay in the 72 since winning the Conference in 1992.

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Dan Gosling is not known for his goals - the Watford midfielder has three this season for the Hornets and former side Bournemouth.

He could've doubled that tally already here.

This time he curls over when well-placed just outside the box.

    Brentford 0-0 Cardiff City

Half an hour gone and there's been some half-chances for both sides.

Ivan Toney almost caught Alex Smithies out on his own byline when he chased after what looked like a lost cause but couldn't quite square it back into the box for a team-mate.

Cardiff then broke up the other end immediately, but Harry Wilson was just unable to get enough power on a shot to really worry David Raya who gathered easily.

A moment later though and Wilson thought he slipped Aden Flint in for a finish but the offside was up against the Cardiff skipper despite Raya coming out to make the block.

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Norwich give the ball away in their own third and Watford release Ismaila Sarr, who beats Xavi Quintilla and sees his shot saved at the near post from Tim Krul.

    It's pretty open out there.

  9. League One previewpublished at 18:31 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

As well as Hull's chance to secure promotion with a win against Sunderland this evening, there are a few other intriguing meetings in League One.

Second-placed Peterborough United have a game in hand on Hull, who they trail by three points and host Gillingham this evening.

Two form sides at either ends of the table in AFC Wimbledon and Oxford United go head-to-head as they bid to keep survival and promotion momentum rolling.

Meanwhile in the match that's already started, managerless and bottom-of-the-table Swindon Town lead a Portsmouth side desperate to bounce back with a win to move back into the play-offs 1-0 courtesy of Brett Pitman's goal.

  10. Tigers with Championship return in reachpublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

Hull City v Sunderland (19:45 BST)

The game undoubtedly to keep an eye on in League One a bit later comes at the KCOM Stadium as leaders Hull City host third-placed Sunderland.

The Tigers are 11 points clear of the Mackems as it stands, but the visitors this evening do have a game in hand on their opponents.

But a win for the hosts this evening would put them out of reach for Sunderland who are eight points adrift of second-placed Peterborough with five games to play.

Lee Johnson's side will be desperate for a result having lost their past three league games to fall off the pace with the top two.

Hull meanwhile have come off the final bend in style, winning their past four matches and are unbeaten in their past 11.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

Norwich striker Teemu Pukki takes the ball towards the edge of the Watford penalty area and is brought down by Will Hughes, who's deservedly booked.

Kieran Dowell's free-kick is blocked and Emi Buendia's follow-up also hits the wall.

It's Watford with their backs against the wall now.

Kieran Dowell strikes a low free-kick for Norwich from more than 25 yards but Watford keeper Daniel Bachmann is well-positioned to make a simple save.

  13. Postpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Brentford 0-0 Cardiff City

All got a bit cagey 20 minutes into this.

Brentford are seeing a bit more of the ball compared with how they started, but Cardiff's disciplined shape is restricting the time they have in dangerous areas.

  14. Postpublished at 18:21 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Another Norwich strike from range takes a deflection and earns them a corner - this time it's Kieran Dowell who takes the shot.

The leaders have finally settled. Watford may rue their failure to score after their early dominance.

  15. Postpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Norwich have a rare foray into their opponents' half and Teemu Pukki tees up Todd Cantwell, whose effort from 25 yards loops up off a Watford defender onto the roof of the net.

And just a few minutes later the side without a manager take the lead!

It's former Portsmouth player Brett Pitman too who has netted the opener, Jack Payne laying on the cross for him to turn on his right foot and smash it home.

  18. Postpublished at 18:14 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Watford midfielder Dan Gosling is taking up some very advanced positions and causing the Norwich back-line a headache.

Perhaps the Hornets' desire to close in on automatic promotion is greater than Norwich's motivation to seal the title?

Ismaila Sarr goes down in the box under a challenge from Norwich's Xavi Quintilla but nothing is given.

  19. Postpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Brentford 0-0 Cardiff City

Brentford finally get something going in attack.

Mads Roerslev in space down the right pulls the ball back to the edge of the box where Marcus Forss runs on to it.

But his shot with his right instep is straight at Alex Smithies in the Brentford goal.

  20. Postpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 20 April 2021
