FT: Brighton 2-0 Leeds

A really good performance from Brighton.
They started the game very well, played in a Leeds style against a team with high energy. They haven't got enough results this season but found one today.
It was fine piece of individualism that sealed this and surely they are safe now.
Brighton 2-0 Leeds
All over at the Amex. A good result for Brighton and a brilliant goal from Danny Welbeck.
Brighton 2-0 Leeds
Brighton are pushing for a third! Graham Potter is applauding on the touchline as a dangerous cross from the right earns a corner.
It's flicked on by Leeds' striker Rodrigo at the near post but Alireza Jahanbakhsh won't get on the end of it.
Brighton 2-0 Leeds
On comes Alexis Mac Allister now. He replaces Yves Bissouma.
Brighton 2-0 Leeds
Jakub Moder is on for Danny Welbeck.
Brighton 2-0 Leeds
Luke Ayling is in the book for basically acting as a human wall. Pascal Gross curls in the free-kick but Adam Webster's header loops over the bar.

This would be a huge win for Brighton.
We've talked lots about how well they've played this season but the results haven't been there, the goals haven't been there.
They've managed to find two today and one of them was absolutely brilliant.

Makes me wonder what the physios were doing with Welbeck at Arsenal and Watford. Seems fitter than ever now at Brighton

Stick Welbeck in the Euros. Fit and scoring!

Brighton 2-0 Leeds
Brighton have jumped up to 14th now. They are 10 points above the drop zone.
They are basically safe.

Marcelo Bielsa is absolutely furious.
Leeds were getting a foothold in this game and were set to make it an interesting last 10 minutes.
But then they don't deal with the ball into the box and it's a really sloppy header clear.
Then it's all about Danny Welbeck.
He Cruyffs it out of the sky and finds a brilliant finish into the bottom corner. A fantastic individual goal.
Brighton 2-0 Leeds
A few changes in the last few minutes. Leeds' Pablo Hernandez is on for Diego Llorente. And Alireza Jahanbakhsh replaces Leandro Trossard for Brighton.
Danny Welbeck
It all comes from the Leeds goal kick. Adam Webster wins the header and Neal Maupay is a nuisance as Leeds try to deal with it.
It falls for Danny Welbeck, who turns inside incredibly, skins the defender and slots it into the far right corner.
Unbelievable skill to take the ball out of the air and turn like that. Some goal!

Leeds are starting to ask a few questions now.
These last 15 minutes could be really edgy for Brighton.
Leeds haven't played well in this game but they're still in it and they could make life difficult.
Brighton 1-0 Leeds
Leandro Trossard leads the counter down the right and cuts inside while he waits for support.
There's options on the edge and he tees up Yves Bissouma. He has a clear view but skews it completely and it dribbles well wide.
What a waste!
Brighton 1-0 Leeds
Leeds are really pushing now. Jack Harrison drills it in towards Rodrigo and it falls for Stuart Dallas on the edge of the box.
He smashes it but it flies just over the bar. Brighton need to get out!

Brighton 1-0 Leeds
Luke Ayling dinks one in from the right but Lewis Dunk coolly chests it back to his keeper.
Smart stuff.
Brighton 1-0 Leeds
It's slid through to Tyler Roberts in the box but he's bundled off it. Robin Koch creeps in behind and follows up.
He tries to poke it towards the near post but a Brighton defending gets the block in as he slides across.
There's appeals for a handball but nothing comes of it.
Brighton 1-0 Leeds
The game is really starting to open up now. Leeds lose possession and gain it back within a matter of seconds, before Dan Burn nips in again on the left.
