Sheffield United fans will be watching this and thinking 'where has this been all season?' - this is the Sheffield United of last season. Hard to beat, well organised, when they go forward they have ideas. Yes they haven't got that finishing killer instinct and they didn't have it last year - but this is a really strong performance.

Evertonians must be thinking how can we be so poor and so inconsistent at home? This is a really disappointing performance so far.

Since Jordan Pickford recovered from his injury, he looks calm. He looks more assured, himself of old. Feels like there's always an edge to him when he plays, he seems erratic but I think that's disappeared in recent weeks so credit to him.

A nice cross from Seamus Coleman but his Republic of Ireland team-mate John Egan heads away before it reaches Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Everton keeper Jordan Pickford is quickly out of his box to head a long ball into touch before Daniel Jebbison can get there.

Jebbison is the first player to score a Premier League goal before his 18th birthday since Raheem Sterling in October 2012.

Nice interplay between Enda Stevens and Jack Robinson on the left for Sheffield United but Robinson's cross is cleared.

Now Stevens is down injured.

If Sheffield United hang on here they'll be up to 20 points. I'm sure there were stages during this season when that didn't look likely.

Best passage of play from Everton so far - they've put pressure on Sheffield United for the last few minutes and it's come from the full-backs being higher up the pitch. Allowing Gylfi Sigurdsson, James Rodriguez and Richarlison to get on the ball, turn and make things happen.

I once asked my father - who doesn't really follow football - if he'd heard of Messi.

He says yes and about a minute later it turned out no, he was 'thinking of Gylfi' because his Everton-supporting friend raves about him.

Can't imagine Messi and Gylfi get mixed up too often.

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: “I am feeling good. The main thing for me this late in the season is working on my fitness and just trying to help the team as much as I can when I am on the field.

"I have been working hard all season in training but it is hard to replicate that in games.

"There have been a few games where after five minutes you feel a bit tired but you have to keep working hard and keep fighting and that is what I am trying to do for the team.

“Whether it be scoring, assisting or getting second balls, I am just trying to do all I can for the boys.

“It’s been tough but I am still only 25, I feel old but I have still got a long way to go. I will work as hard as I can to get back to where I was and push further than that to be the best player I can possibly be.

Everton can get back into this - they've shown signs and it should be 1-1 with that opportunity for Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin but for two wonder saves from Aaron Ramsdale. They have quality, they've been poor but they do possess that quality to hurt Sheffield United.
