Quite a welcome for the City players outside Etihad Stadium. Thousands of fans greeted the team coaches with flags, flares and fireworks.

They got quite excited when they saw Pep at the front of one coach. He was happily waving at everyone - maybe trying to get them out of the way so they could reach the ground.

Sam Allardyce is leaving his role as West Brom's manager following relegation.

Allardyce suffered his first Premier League relegation when defeat at Arsenal on 9 May ensured they would drop into the Championship.

The former Bolton, Newcastle, West Ham, Sunderland and England boss succeeded the sacked Slaven Bilic at West Brom on an 18-month contract in December.

Allardyce, 66, said he felt unable to commit to Albion for the long term.

    Roy HodgsonImage source, PA Media

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to Dan Walker on Football Focus: "I think that it's a stepping down and I've been bowled over by the responses I've had. I didn't want to make a fanfare farewell as who knows what the future will brings. I don't have any particular plans or ambitions but at the same time something may come along that I'd like to do and I don't want people harping back saying: "I thought you were retiring."

"The response from the players and the club has been overwhelming. The memories will stay with me always.

"We were not really discussing the future with the players or myself but I made it clear to the club several months ago this would be my last season as that would give them the time to look into other options.

"I didn't want them to be in a position where they may have lost out on other honourable candidates.

"My final training session? It's not our forte to have to manage three games in a week so I'll be wrapping everyone up in cotton wool to try and make sure we get as many of our first team players on the pitch against Liverpool as we can."

    Ederson

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has won it for the second successive season.

He has helped his side win the title by keeping 18 clean sheets in 35 appearances. His nearest rival going into the final day is Chelsea's Edouard Mendy on 16 so he can't catch him.

With Liverpool's Alisson having secured the award in 2018-19 with 21 clean sheets, it means the Golden Glove has remained in Brazilian hands for three successive seasons.

  20. 'I wasn't thinking we would be champions'published at 14:43 British Summer Time 23 May 2021

Man City v Everton (16:00 BST)

Man City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to Dan Walker on Football Focus: "It's been a hard year for many reasons. Every title is hard but with the pandemic, the lockdowns, the overall situation, this was harder for everyone.

"After we lost to Spurs (2-0 in November), I wasn't thinking we would become champions. I am an optimistic guy but I am also realistic. The pundits said we were out of the title race so we just focussed on winning the next game.

"When we won at Stamford Bridge, and the way we played there, we realised we could keep winning. Our opponents dropped points and weren't consistent like we were."

On Sergio Aguero: "The numbers speak for themselves. He is one of the top class players in the world but also one of the nicest and most humble people I've met. He has to be incredibly proud of what he has done and he scored the most important goal in the history of this club. That moment still gives me goosebumps when I watch it.

    "He is the legend."
