  1. CLOSE!published at 14:34 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Burnley 0-0 Leeds

Best chance for Burnley as a good move ends with Johann Gudmundsson getting sight of goal. He tries to bend a shot into the far corner but it goes just wide.

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

It feels like Tottenham have had a million corners in this game but their latest is actually only their third. Son Heung-min sends it into the box but Davinson Sánchez heads well over.

Son then sweeps a low effort wide of goal as Spurs keep up the pressure.

  3. Burnley penalty appeal dismissedpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Mike Minay
    BBC Radio 5 Live reporter

Earlier on, Chris Wood was manhandled on the goal-line - Leeds defenders on the replays did not have eyes for the ball at all. The referee wasn't interested and Burnley fans weren't too happy with that, understandably.

Oof. That's a nasty challenge as Ashley Barnes dives in recklessly on Stuart Dallas. Yellow card for the Burnley forward.

This has been a feisty encounter so far.

So much of this game is being played in the Watford half but despite that Tottenham have only managed one shot on target. The Hornets have also looked a danger on the break.

Illan Meslier gets a strong hand to whipped in Burnley corner before coming out confidently to claim the ball as it is sent back into the box.

  7. 'Watford's wide players will fall asleep'published at 14:23 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Watford get back into their shape so well. Watford want to play on the counter attack, so Spurs have to keep moving the ball one and two-touch, keep shifting wide and back round because eventually Watford's wide players will fall asleep.

Emmanuel Dennis is a centre-forward and he's playing out on the left, it's hard, you do switch off and I've done it many times.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:23 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

Big save by Daniel Bachmann as the Watford defence is unable to scramble away a corner and Japhet Tanganga manages to stab a shot at goal from close range but Bachmann reacts quickly to make the save.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Burnley 0-0 Leeds

Patrick Bamford is clipped by Josh Brownhill as the Leeds striker looked to get away and that brings out the first yellow card of the game.

All Tottenham at the moment and they are sending crosses into the box at will. Watford are doing well and repelling all that Spurs can offer so far.

Kaeto: I can see it happening. Spurs to lose, Sissoko to score the winner. It’s bound to happen.

KW: Sissoko is one of the worst players to wear a spurs shirt since the dark days of the 90s. Think I'll put a couple of quid on him scoring the winner. Its the Spurs way.

Another quick attack by Leeds and Patrick Bamford is into the box but drags his effort wide.

Good start by the visitors, though. Looking lively.

  13. Can King fill Deeney's shoes?published at 14:14 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Watford have a front three that have a lot of pace, a lot of movement and can cause a lot of problems.

This will be a big season for Josh King, if Watford are going to lose Troy Deeney, they need someone to replace him. King has to start scoring for Watford.

  14. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

Better from Tottenham as a good move ends with Steven Bergwijn's shot being deflected behind for a corner. The set piece comes to nothing and Watford almost capitalise on the counter as Dele Alli gifts possession to Joshua King but he is soon crowded out.

  15. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

Tottenham are working the ball left to right and back again, trying to pull the organised Watford defence out of shape. We're 15 minutes in and Daniel Bachmann is yet to be tested in the Watford goal.

    Burnley 0-0 Leeds

Leeds charge forward in typically quick fashion. The ball is worked to Raphinha, whose thumping effort is blocked and then cleared out for a throw.

Stuart Dallas then has a bit of an embarrassing moment as the ball slips out of his hands as he attempts to take the throw, prompting a sheepish smile from the Northern Ireland international.

  17. 'Brilliant reception for Kane'published at 14:08 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

There was a brilliant reception for Kane when the teams came out, really positive. When him and Son Heung-min had their names read out, they got the biggest cheers - but in particular Harry Kane.

It's good that he's decided to stay, read into that what you want, but it's great news for Tottenham. They've started really well here.

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

Watford win a free-kick on the right side of the area. Adam Masina whips it in and Tottenham don't deal with it particularly well but are eventually able to scramble clear.

Really good tempo to Watford's play at the moment. Xisco Munoz mentioned the need for high intensity and they are showing that so far.

  19. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Burnley 0-0 Leeds

Some early needle to this game Patrick Bamford and James Tarkowski clash off the ball. Everyone rushes in to calm the incident down and referee Michael Oliver decides to keep his cards in his pocket.

  20. 'End to end'published at 14:05 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Tottenham 0-0 Watford

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

End to end, Harry Kane thought he should have a penalty and then Watford break. You thought Sissoko was going to score against his old side, he set it back to Kucka, he had a shot and it was good defending from Eric Dier.

This game has really started well.
