    HT: Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Anfield

That wasn't a smooth half from Liverpool but they had strong spells of pressure and eventually it paid off.

Palace have been a threat on set-pieces - typified by that strike from Joel Ward right on the stroke of half time from the corner.

The fans behind Alisson's goal chanted his name as he headed down the tunnel. They know they might need him again unless Liverpool can go up another level.

It was wave after wave of attacks from Liverpool. It was about time they scored.

Palace tried their best to keep them out, but when you have got so much pressure on you it is really difficult to keep a team like Liverpool out - they just have so much to offer.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

    Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal lead thanks to Martin Odegaard's lovely free-kick - the one true moment of quality so far. The Gunners are going to have to match fire with fire again in the second half if they are to see this through. Burnley being their typically combative selves.

The half ends with Alisson making a tricky save from a shot from outside the box. Sadio Mane's goal is the difference.

  8. CLOSE!published at 15:46 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

    Norwich 1-1 Watford

Confusion at the back for Norwich, Grant Hanley letting it run for Tim Krul and Ismaila Sarr nips in.

The Watford star man looks to be side-footing into the corner but Krul sticks out a hand to tip wide.

  9. Arsenal look decentpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

    Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Arsenal have a good shape about them and whilst some of their players, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang, are not effective enough, they don't look in much bother here.

I like the look of the Odegaard, Partey, Smith-Rowe axis in midfield.

    Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

    Neil Lennon
Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Arteta is under the spotlight and he will be until he puts wins together. If he gets a win today, it'll get easier. Have Arsenal been impressive? They've been okay. It is getting tetchy out there, and that might suit Burnley.

  11. Not a lot for either keeper to dopublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

    Man City 0-0 Southampton

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

No shots on target yet by Manchester City. Pep Guardiola won't be happy if they don't change that before half-time. Southampton keeper Alex McCarthy has had to keep himself busy by taking as long as possible to take his goal-kicks, which has annoyed the home fans.

There is not much happening at the other end either. For all their bright and bustling play, Southampton have just registered their first effort at goal - a daisy-cutter by Mohamed Elyounoussi, which rolled straight at Ederson.

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:45 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palacepublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

    Sadio Mane

Breakthrough! And of course it is Sadio Mane.

Mohamed Salah's header from a corner is saved by Vicente Guaita but Sadio Mane is there to hook in the rebound.

It is the forward's 100th Liverpool goal and also sets a new Premier League record - he's scored in each of the last NINE games against Palace.
