    Hmmm, that's an interesting one.

Christian Benteke goes down in the box as he tries to get past Konstantinos Tsimikas and to a ball to the back post. It's tough to tell, but there may have been a little trip in there from the Reds player. The ref didn't spot it and VAR hasn't picked up on it, so I'm guessing it was above board. Right?

Burnley have been passive. We know how they play and they are functional, but they they haven't laid a glove on Arsenal physically and I'd have thought they'd overpower them at times.

More superb defending from Arsenal. Gabriel and Takehiro Tomiyasu fly in to prevent Ashley Barnes surely finding the net from close range. Think it was the former who got the touch.

    HOW?!

Diogo Jota misses an absolute sitter, firing miles over after the ball had been palmed out to him by Vicente Guaita. All he had to do was tap it in.

    Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

There is an aggression to everything Burnley do. But so far, Arsenal have done well to keep them from causing too much mayhem in the box. Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes don't give things up but they've been met by stubborn resistance.

Mohammed Salisu is the man who comes on to replace Jack Stephens. He looks in a lot of pain, needing the help of two physios to assist him off.

    Leveller!

Teemu Pukki nets his first goal of the season, timing his run to perfection from Mathias Normann's first time pass.

Pukki is one-on-one with Ben Foster but to be fair, he looks composed and slots in a lovely finish into the far corner.

  14. Odegaard makes Pope paypublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 18 September 2021

    Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Turf Moor

Burnley were the architects of their own downfall then.

Nick Pope got a clearance all wrong, booting it straight out of play, giving Arsenal the chance to launch an immediate counter, which Ashley Westwood was trying to stop when he gave the free-kick away which led to the goal.

That said, it was an excellent strike by Martin Odegaard. It was the Norwegian's first goal since March.

There wasn't much pace on it. Just a lot of guile, great direction up and over and the keeper had no chance.

The keeper is looking after his left corner and there is not a lot he can do. If the wall doesn't jump and it goes over the wall you are struggling. Great free kick.

Lovely goal. I don't think Pope had any chance. I wouldn't say Arsenal deserve to be in front but that is the first bit of genuine quality we've seen. Odegaard has been Arsenal's best player. Now we need to see a reaction from Burnley.

Southampton nearly the architects of their own downfall, but make up for it.

They fail to clear Joao Cancelo's cross and it reaches Gabriel Jesus on the edge of the box.

The Brazilian has an awkward-looking shot at goal with his weaker left peg, but Jan Bednarek had retreated to head clear.
