Despite having a two-goal advantage, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insisted his side would not get complacent.

"We have no foot in the final, we don't think about that," said Tuchel.

"It is another tough match in a tough stadium, they are a very good team and have a top, top coach.

So, what do you make of those teams then?

There's no place in the Tottenham squad for Tanguy Ndombele after he was booed off at the weekend with Spurs losing to Morecambe at home in the FA Cup at the time, before they recovered to win it 3-1.

Ndombele trudged off slowly and then was stroppy as he disappeared down the tunnel.

    Tottenham v Chelsea (19:45 GMT)

Tottenham make three changes from their 2-0 defeat in the first leg.

Hugo Lloris is replaced by Pierluigi Gollini in goal - the Italian started last time out against Morecambe.

Son Heung-min's injury means he's out and Oliver Skipp is on the bench, so in come Giovanni lo Celso and Harry Winks.

Tottenham XI: Gollini, Davies, Sanchez, Tanganga, Doherty, Winks, Hojbjerg, Emerson, Lo Celso, Kane, Moura.

Subs: Lloris, Paskotski, Rodon, Sessegnon, Gil, Skipp, White, Alli, Scarlett.

Chelsea remove four players from the XI in the first leg. Marcos Alonso, Saul Niguez, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz all drop to the bench, with Andreas Christensen, Callum Hudson-Odoi. and Timo Werner - alongside Romelu Lukaku up front - all starting.

N'Golo Kante and Thiago Silva are both on the bench having recovered from Covid-19, which kept them out of the first leg.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Sarr, Christensen, Kovacic, Jorginho, Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Werner, Lukaku.

Subs: Bettinelli, Alonso, Loftus-Cheek, Silva, Kante, Niguez, Pulisic, Havertz, Ziyech.

  6. Maybe extra time and then penaltiespublished at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2022

In the previous rounds of the Carabao Cup, a game level at the end of 90 minutes has gone straight to penalties, but in the semi-finals and final we have extra time used first.

So, if Tottenham are two goals up tonight at the end of 90 minutes then we continue. Away goals is no longer an issue so it wouldn't matter if Spurs were winning 2-0 or 4-2.

If we're still level at the end of extra time then it's a penalty shoot out to earn your place at Wembley.

Liverpool and Arsenal are meeting in the first leg of the second semi-final at Anfield tomorrow before the second leg at Emirates Stadium on 20 January. The final will be on Sunday, 27 February.

It's now 14 years since Tottenham won a trophy. They won this competition, then known as the Carling Cup, with a 2-1 win over Chelsea in the 2007-08 final.

But the Blues won in their last final in this tournament, when known as the Capital One Cup, beating Spurs 2-0 at Wembley.

This is what happened in the first leg...

Chelsea deservedly beat Tottenham 2-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, but had so many chances they should have already sealed their place at Wembley.

Kai Havertz gave Chelsea an early lead when he ran onto Marcos Alonso's through ball and fired home with Davinson Sanchez unable to keep the shot out on the line.

The Blues' second was a comedy own goal as Japhet Tanganga headed the ball into team-mate Ben Davies' shoulder and it flew into the net.

Romelu Lukaku, back in the team after a one-game exile for comments he made in an interview, had several chances and headed wide from close range.

Spurs, who changed to a back four after a torrid first half, had to wait until the 50th minute for a shot, with Harry Kane's free-kick saved by Kepa.

But the chances continued to come for Chelsea with Hugo Lloris denying Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and the returning Timo Werner.
