    Arsenal 0-0 Everton

    Kelly Smith
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Vivianne Miedema is such a hard player to mark. She can pop off the shoulder and is very good at holding up the ball.

The Everton defence will have to be aware of her today.

    Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Good from Katie McCabe. She presses high to win a tackle, and then blocks a clearance out for a throw-in.

The sun is shining at Boreham Wood. It looks a beautiful afternoon.

  3. CLOSE!published at 2 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Birmingham

A lightning start for the Hammers as Canadian Adriana Leon latches on to a loose ball and fires an effort across goal.

Just needed a touch from a someone in a claret and blue shirt.

    Good start.

The Arsenal and Everton players, and match officials, have linked arms and formed a circle in the centre circle as a sign of solidarity towards the victims of alleged sexual abuse in the NWSL.

West Ham have a brilliant chance to win three on the bounce as they take on bottom club Birmingham City.

Olli Harder's side are coming off the back of a big 4-0 win over Leicester City and a sunning 2-0 upset at Manchester City.

And they'll be heavy favourites against a Birmingham side who - in a cliche - are a team in transition.

Scott Booth took over the reins this summer, having won six titles in succession with Glasgow City in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

Under Carla Ward Blues finished just two points above relegated Bristol City last term.

But this season Booth has yet to see his side pick up a point.

Birmingham drew 2-2 at the Hammers last season. You feel they'd take a draw right now.

  10. Team news - Heath starts first league gamepublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Arsenal v Everton (15:00 BST)

Arsenal make three changes from their 4-1 Champions League defeat to Arsenal in midweek with Lotte Wubben-Moy, Mana Iwabuchi and Tobin Heath replacing Jen Beattie, Lia Walti and Beth Mead.

Heath has so far been restricted to substitute appearances in the league, so this is her first start since joining over the summer.

  11. Perfect Gunners or new-look Toffees to stride on?published at 14:54 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Arsenal v Everton (15:00 BST)

    Toni DugganImage source, Getty Images

Everton made NINE new signings in the summer as they join Manchester United in trying to unsettle the established top three of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Willie Kirk's team didn't get off to the ideal start, losing 4-0 to Manchester City and Chelsea in the opening two weeks, but things have started to click with back-to-back wins against Birmingham and then Reading.

Arsenal have been absolutely faultless so far and have already seen off Chelsea and Manchester City this season and will want to continue their 100% start ahead of the four-week break.

They are looking for a first WSL title since 2018-19.

While it is half-time in the two 14:00 BST games, let's intensify our build-up to the day's 15:00 BST games...

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Reading 3-0 Aston Villa

A dream opening half for the hosts, who find themselves firmly in the driving seat thanks to a quickfire double from Amalie Eikeland and Rachel Rowe and Natasha Dowie's superb strike in added time.

Plenty for Villa boss Carla Ward to ponder at the break. Her players have had no answer to Reading's verve and dynamism in attack.

  14. goal

GOAL - Reading 3-0 Aston Villapublished at 45+3 mins

    Natasha Dowie

    Is that game over already?

It certainly looks that way as Natasha Dowie makes it three with a thunderous effort after being played through by Deanne Rose's clever pass.

Hannah Hampton had no chance. What a half for Reading.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Brighton 1-0 Tottenham

Danielle Carter is next to test Rebecca Spencer in Tottenham's goal. The Spurs keeper has done well to ensure it remains just 1-0 at the break.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:46 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Brighton 1-0 Tottenham

Lee Geum-min with another great chance for Brighton.

This time Rebecca Spencer is equal to it. The goalkeeper gets low to deny the Brighton striker.

  17. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Brighton 1-0 Tottenham

Kit Graham twists and turns 25 yards out trying to create space for herself.

She manages to wriggle her way into some space and has a crack. Just wide.

  18. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Reading 2-0 Aston Villa

Villa are pressing as we near the end of the half.

The visitors have had six corners, but have yet to fashion a clear-cut opportunity from them, and haven't managed a shot on target.

Frustrating afternoon for Carla Ward's side so far.

  19. goal

GOAL - Brighton 1-0 Tottenhampublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Lee Geum-min (37 mins)

    It's been coming.

An initial effort is blocked, but the ball falls to Lee Geum-min who beats goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer with a wonderfully placed low shot into the bottom corner.

  20. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Oh, so very close for Brighton.

Inessa Kaagman does wonderfully well to dig a shot out on the edge of the area. Rebecca Spencer is beaten, but the crossbar denies the hosts the opener.
