    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Very nearly an opener for Brighton just after the half-hour mark.

Lee Geum-Min tried her luck from the edge of the area and goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer spills her attempted save. Aileen Whelan follows up, but Spencer does well to foil her. It wouldn't have counted anyway, as the flag quickly went up for offiside.

Kirby was given time and space to drive forward towards goal. She was excellent today in linking up play but this time she took it on herself and doubled Chelsea's lead.

Leicester can take a lot of positives from this game, but the best teams always find a solution - that's exactly what Chelsea did.

    FT: Chelsea 2-0 Leicester

Leicester slip to another defeat then - their fifth successive one at the start of their debut WSL season - and have now, for the time being, slipped to the bottom of the table. However, today will them confidence that they are able to stay in this league.

They were resolute at the back, and Kirstie Levell was strong in goal. They lacked a bit of quality going forward, but they won't be facing sides of Chelsea's quality every week.

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Chances remain very much at a premium in this one.

Tottenham's Ashleigh Neville has come closest to opening the scoring, testing goalkeeper Megan Walsh from distance.

At the other end, Emma Koivisto ballooned an effort well over the bar.

    All over.

Chelsea had to dig deep, very deep, but they've got the three points and keep within touching distance of Arsenal and Tottenham at the top of the WSL.

    Game, set, match!

Route one from the champions but it is effective. Pernille Header flicks on, Sam Kerr flicks on and Fran Kirby runs through and slots past Kirstie Levell and into the bottom corner.

That is Kirby's 50th WSL goal.

    Chelsea 1-0 Leicester

A late challenge by Erin Cuthbert gives Leicester a free-kick just inside their own half.

Punt it in the area is very much the order of the day.

  9. Postpublished at 92 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 Leicester

Chelsea had been looking like they were going to fail to score in a WSL match for the first time in three years.

They were last kept goalless in a 0-0 draw with Birmingham in October 2018 - this is now, remarkably, their 56th consecutive league match on which they've scored.

    Rachel Rowe

    Just like London buses, eh?

Reading double their advantage just three minutes after scoring the first and it's Rachel Rowe this time.

The Wales international fires a ferocious right-footed effort towards goal. Hannah Hampton gets a touch on it, but the shot is carrying too much power and she can only push it into the roof of the net.

    The Royals are flying!

    Amalie Eikeland

Reading have their first goal of the season and it's Amalie Eikeland who wheels away in celebration.

The Norwegian winger springs down the right flank and looks up to see support arriving in the box.

Not entirely sure if it was a cross or a shot, but either way the ball loops over Hannah Hampton and into the corner.

    Ideal start for the hosts.

That's exactly what we expect from Pernille Harder. She's a prolific goalscorer and it was a brilliant substitution from Emma Hayes to bring her on.

She slotted it into the corner with precision. Chelsea have stayed composed, dealt with their frustration and turned it into a goal.

    Pernille Harder

    THERE IT IS!

Brilliant from Chelsea and Pernille Harder. I was just typing how she scored a 92nd minute equaliser in the Women's Champions League on Wednesday and she has delivered again.

Chelsea take a short corner, and the ball gets worked for Jessie Fleming to cut back for Harder, and she just opens her body and slots the ball into the bottom corner with her left foot.

    A superb finish.
