It is very much a 4-5-1 for Germany when they don't have the ball and that one up top - Alexandra Popp - is also dropping to help out with the press.

So tough for Spain to try and play through.

Having explored options for neat passing near the edge of the Germany box, Spain go for something a bit more agricultural. The cross from deep is into the mixer but Aitana Bonmati can't take advantage despite timing her run well. Goal kick.

Svenja Huth is a tricky little player for Germany. She beats her marker on the right with a neat stepover before sending over a cross that is cleared.

Giulia Gwinn is there to try and hook a shot on target, but she fails to properly catch her effort.

German defenders continue to time their interceptions and tackles to perfection. The latest example is Kathrin Hendrich stepping out to see off another Spain attack.

Soon after, Spain come forward again and a cross from the right flies through everyone.

Almost 3-0!

Germany win a corner, which they sling to the back post for Alexandra Popp to smash a header wide. She's such a handful, the German forward.

Platinum Sports: Spain are playing very well and have had a number of chances, have certainly had their chances and may have some right to feel a little annoyed. Germany 2-0 up have been very clinical, but the game is not yet decided. Spain are still dangerous.

I still think Spain are playing well. They have to be more clinical but they are getting chances.

A reminder that Germany have only lost one of their 19 group stage games at the Women’s Euros (W14 D4), scoring 43 goals and only conceding five in return.

That could soon be 20 games and 45 goals.
