I appreciate this live is here largely to focus on the game between Germany and Spain, but it would be remiss of me not to at least give a further tip of the hat to England after their simply magnificent win last night.

As confirmed Group A winners, they are awaiting the team who finish second in Germany and Spain's group, so there is plenty of relevance here.

Let's all just take a moment to bask in the highlights of what felt like a true moment of international arrival for the Lionesses...

One change for Germany from the side that crushed Denmark 4-0 on Friday, but a big one as captain Alexandra Popp comes into the side with centre-forward Lea Schuller dropping out after she tested positive for Covid-19.

Popp, who takes the armband off Svenja Huth, only returned to action in March after 10 months out because of a serious knee injury. The injury took two lots of surgery to fix and she was part of the Wolfsburg side that eliminated Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the end of March.

Germany: Frohms, Rauch, Hegering, Hendrich, Gwinn, Magull, Dabritz, Oberdorf, Buhl, Popp, Huth.

Subs: Schult, Berger, Kleinherne, Lattwein, Lohmann, Freigang, Anyomi, Dallmann, Wassmuth, Brand, Doorsoun-Khajeh,

Spain make two changes from the 11 that began the 4-1 win over Finland as Laia Aleixandri, who impressed off the bench on Friday, comes in at defensive midfield in place of Irene Guerrero, while Sheila Garcia starts at right wing and replaces Esther Gonzalez.

Manchester United right-back Ona Batlle again starts and she is the only player from the Women's Super League that begins the game.

Finland will be cheering on Spain as they will be out if Spain do not win this match.

Spain: Panos, Ouahabi, Paredes, Leon, Batlle, Aleixandri, Bonmati, Guijarro, Caldentey, S Garcia, L Garcia.

Subs: Gallardo, Misa, Guerrero, Andres, Del Castillo, Cardona, Sarriegi, Abelleira, Carmona, Pereira, Gonzalez, Pina.

Yes, just 24 hours on from England's stunning 8-0 drubbing of Norway in Brighton, the two teams likely duking it out to face the Lionesses in the last eight face off at Brentford's Community Stadium.

Both are currently on three points after healthy opening-game wins, making this something of a showdown for top spot in the group.

It's the record eight-time champions against a team tipped by many to go all the way in 2022. Let battle commence.
