It is very unfortunate here for Northern Ireland. England are smart in playing the triangles around. Is it clear and obvious if her arm is tight to her body? Is there intention there?

Georgia Stanway's thumping strike from the edge of the box hits Laura Rafferty on the arm.

The referee has no hesitation in pointing to the spot.

A nightmare for Northern Ireland early on.

It's a tough task to beat that performance against Norway - incredible performance. I am enjoying the start from this Northern Ireland team though - they've really come at England here.

But England will want to do the same again, they're up against a Northern Ireland team that have lost both of their games, they don't look short in confidence so far but England will want to continue that momentum.

An Austrian penalty appeal as Nicole Billa goes down after running in between two defenders but referee Kateryna Monzul says no. VAR has a look and agrees with the ref. Play continues.

Sometimes you get players that are just more suited to international football. When you look at Georgia Stanway in these games she looks accomplished and she looks ready.

Excellent goalkeeping from Jackie Burns, punching clear from Millie Bright's hanging cross.

Ellen White was there, sniffing around, looking to get on the end of any spillages.

That's a great start for Northern Ireland. That will give them confidence to settle quickly, something that hasn't happened in the other two games.

Sarina [Wiegman] has talked about rhythm and continuity. I didn't think rhythm had to be the same players but Sarina obviously had other ideas.

Oh wow, what a lively start from Northern Ireland and they almost silence St Mary's.

It's Lauren Wade who sprints clear of Rachel Daly and into the box, but the shot from the angle is pushed away by Mary Earps.

The England goalkeeper already doing more work in the opening minute here than the entire Norway game.

How do you respond to such a heavy defeat? You have to learn and reflect - and then move on. It's an opportunity to right those wrongs. There were so many wrongs in that game. They have to start positively.

This is the third time these teams have met in eight months.

That means it will be the third time in eight months that I'm going to mention that Sweet Caroline is VERY MUCH Northern Ireland's.

Fine, you can have your star names and favourite's tag, but you'll never take that off the Green and White Army!

What this team has done is over-exceed any expectations that anyone has had of them. They are highly motivated girls and they will want to leave absolutely everything on that pitch tonight.

I think back to 2005 and our first time at the Euros, we finished bottom of the group. This cannot be a one-off for Northern Ireland and it won't be but they need to have the backing.

The sun may be setting on Northern Ireland's time at the Euros but there's no doubt they will want to go out on a high.

This team has worked so hard to get to this point and they will want to savour every single moment of their final game.

This is the best the Northern Ireland fans have been in the build-up to a game, by the way, which is some going as they've been incredible the whole tournament.

Basically everything [Norway need to improve]. The last game was really poor. Today they will have to try to get their enthusiasm back. On paper they should win tonight. I'm expecting them to go out firing from the first minute. If they do that they'll win.

  19. Can Hegerberg and Norway bounce back?published at 19:50 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

    Austria v Norway (20:00 BST)

This was meant to be the tournament of Norway and Ada Hegerberg.

The 26-year-old, who won the 2018 Ballon d'Or, returned to international duty this year after a five-year self-imposed exile.

She is the Champions League's all-time top scorer, but has yet to score this summer - in the 4-1 win over Northern Ireland and record 8-0 defeat by England.

Fail to win today and Norway are going home.

"Friday is all about showing our true face, a completely different side of ourselves," she said.

"It is important to acknowledge what has happened: there's no point in hiding. A lot of work will be needed.

"Elite sports are nasty and brutal, so you have to be aware of what can happen. It was inconceivable that we would make such a mistake [against England]. We must make an effort."

  20. 'We can't concede a goal'published at 19:48 British Summer Time 15 July 2022

    Austria v Norway (20:00 BST)

Austria have an unusual record, having reached the Euro 2017 semi-finals... in their only major tournament before now.

Lose in Brighton today and it's their first ever group exit.

Boss Irene Fuhrmann said: "We can't concede a goal. It will be very hard, because Norway have absolutely top players in their ranks.

"Many of them play in England: they are very fit. We have to fight for every ball. So far we have played well at this tournament, and I hope that will be the case again."

Defender Marina Georgieva is wary of facing Norway straight after their 8-0 thrashing by England: "After such a hard defeat, a team needs to perform totally differently in the next match because they need to prove themselves.

"I'm not sure it was good for us that they lost so badly to England. Norway are a very robust, fast and good team. They're not going to let that stand."
