Sarina Wiegman's absence will come as a blow to England given she was keen to maintain "rhythm" going into Wednesday's quarter-final - and this will be a disruption in their preparations.

She has five days to recover to be on the sidelines for that crucial match - though England's time spent on the training ground and around the camp in between will be without her.

She is the second member of the England squad to have tested positive during the tournament after defender Lotte Wubben-Moy was ruled out of their second group-game victory over Norway.

Wubben-Moy was away from camp for five days, and there will be a fear that Wiegman's latest positive test could have been passed on to others in the squad.

Uefa protocols mean only those who are symptomatic have to do a test, though several high-profile players have tested positive during the group stages including Netherlands duo Jackie Groenen and Vivianne Miedema, Germany's Lea Schuller and Finland goalkeeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela.

England have had very few setbacks in the tournament, so this will be a test of how the players respond to Wiegman's absence.

    Simon Gleave
Head of sports analysis, Nielsen Gracenote

Gracenote's analysis before the tournament began identified Northern Ireland v England as the most one-sided match of the whole Euro 2022 group phase. England were estimated to have a 94% chance of victory with Northern Ireland on 2%.

In tonight's other match in Group A, Norway have to win to progress to the knockout phase of the competition as Austria will always finish above Norway on goal difference if their encounter is drawn.

Gracenote simulations estimate that Norway have a 53% chance of winning this match and going through while Austria have a 47% chance of reaching the knockout phase.

Kenny Shiels has made one change for Northern Ireland's final match at Euro 2022.

Southampton defender Laura Rafferty gets a run out at her home pitch in place of Chloe McCarron, who started the first two games in midfield.

Rafferty, one of six defenders named by Shiels, will likely slot into a back five with Julie Nelson, Sarah McFadden, Demi Vance and Rebecca McKenna.

Rebecca Holloway is the sixth defender named, however Shiels has used her versatility to his advantage by playing her in defensive midfield and even as a left winger throughout his tenure.

Otherwise, it's as you were from Monday's defeat by Austria.

NI XI: Burns, Vance, Robson, Nelson, McKenna, Holloway, Furness, Callaghan, Rafferty, McGuinness, Wade.

Sarina Wiegman has named the same side who thrashed Norway 8-0 on Monday.

The likes of Alex Greenwood, Chloe Kelly, Ella Toone and Alessia Russo have to settle for a place on the bench again.

Wiegman is absent from the sidelines after testing positive for Covid so it's assistant Arjan Veurink in charge today.

England XI: Earps, Bronze, Bright, Williamson, Daly, Walsh, Stanway, Kirby, Mead, White, Hemp.

It's the last dance for Northern Ireland - and one final traditional pre-match selfie at St Mary's.

Their Euro 2022 dream may be coming to an end but there is optimism that this is only the start of long-term consistent success.

There's a wave of young talent coming through, many of whom are here at the Euros, which bodes well for the future as the changing of the guard takes place in the over the next couple of years.

Kenny Shiels has said he is targeting the Euros in 2025 as Northern Ireland look to reset, rebuild and go again.

For tonight, they have nothing to lose and will give it absolutely everything for their final 90 minutes on the big stage.

England have finished top of the group while Northern Ireland will end bottom, unless they pick up a heavy win tonight.

Whoever wins between Austria and Norway will progress to the quarter-finals, while a draw will be enough for the Austrians.
