Alexandra Popp is now joint top scorer at Euro 2022 with Beth Mead. She has scored in every game at this tournament - and this is the first time she's bagged more than once.
She missed the last two Euros through injury and only returned recently enough from almost a year out.

Svenja Huth delivers a quality ball into the middle and Alexandra Popp goes and bullets a header past the helpless Pauline Peyraud-Magnin. It's an absolute bullet header.

In a game as big as this you need a big character, a big player. She has shown her class and quality throughout the tournament. France thought they had done enough but you need to make sure you mark. Nobody is marking Popp and she steps back and makes a run to make the connection. Such good centre-forward play.

It's the same duo as the first goal. Svenja Huth crosses and Alexandra Popp gets up high to power a header into the back of the net.

Germany have found a couple of lovely positions in wide areas and the two crosses that have come in from Giulia Gwinn and Felicitas Rauch haven't been good enough. They've hit the front post and that will be disappointing from the German point of view.

Is that going to be a crucial two minutes for Germany's hopes as Merle Frohms has just produced three fine saves to keep it at 1-1.
First off, Kadidiatou Diani did excellently to get to the byeline, her pullback found substitute Selma Bacha who spun and shot but saw it parried by Frohms.
Then from the resulting corner, Wendie Renard nearly got her first goal of the tournament, rising superbly at the back post and heading at goal, only for Frohms to save it with her legs.
Frohms then saved again from Diani and for a rare moment in this tournament, Germany are looking vulnerable.

Talk about making the right decisions. I am not sure Diani did then. The ball has to be played in for Geyoro. The angle just got less and less for Diani.
