Germany have such a massive talent pool. They are all brought up the same way - to win. They win tournaments in youth football regularly and they funnel them into the senior side.

Proper pinball in the box but France can't take advantage. Wendie Renard must be an absolute nightmare for opposition - so hard to defend against.

Germany know that they're going into a game against a good team in France and they are defensively strong and robust. It's also how France approach the game knowing that this is such a difficult defence to break.

So much to watch with these two teams. We have seen Germany be ruthless and press well. They always have a structured, organised game plan. France tend to relax within games. They can't do this against Germany.

There were fears that the national train strike would severely impact the attendance but luckily that has not been the case and we're comfortably going to have the highest attendance from the four games in Milton Keynes.

There's a huge number of flags from both sides among the fans and the atmosphere has been building superbly over the last hour.

It's a dry evening after a downpour about an hour ago, although there are some angry looking clouds still overhead. Still, it's all set up perfectly. England awaits the winner.

Zeit journalist Christian Spiller: "Before the tournament, we were a little bit afraid because you could see how during the last years, all the other countries are keeping up or were even overtaking Germany so the old saying that German women always win doesn't work anymore.

"So they got into this comfort zone where it was OK for them to just play and see what happens. They had a good start to the tournament, beating Spain, which they were really afraid of. Since then it has carried on working and it's really nice to watch."

    Germany

Former Germany international Tabea Kemme on BBC One: Yesterday we watched the England game and it was a magical night and hopefully tonight will be a magical night also. There could be a dream coming true with that final at Wembley. We will be crossing fingers for Germany of course.

We have so many young players and the individual quality is amazing. I just hopoe they play more offensively. We need to press the defence of France.

Former German international Josephine Henning: "I soaked up everything yesterday. I had goosebumps and I feel that says a lot about how the people stayed in the stadium and celebrated. I enjoyed it very, very much.

"Yeah, I helped Fara last night [with her 4-0 England pre-game prediction]. We locked eyes and I signalled to her the result. It is going to be 2-0 to Germany tonight."

Nobody really believed that France could break the curse and reach the last four. They are very happy for Germany to get the pressure and for them to be favourites. They're happy to leave them the ball and hit them on the counter with the pace of Diani, Cascarino and Mallard.
