Tell you what, what a strike this is. France manage to win the ball back and get Diani on the ball. She takes the shot early, without the goal set, and with power and that is really important.

    Merle Frohms own goal

    Out of nowhere!

Kadidiatou Diani gets the ball 25 yards out and shrugs off a defender. She blasts in a thunderbolt which hits the post and then goes in off keeper Merle Frohms.

    An own goal.

Germany have managed this first half really well. They have the goal and they have dealt with everything France have thrown at them so far.

France are trying the balls down the flanks which have been successful for them before tonight. But most opponents aren't as good as Germany.

The one thing this game has been missing is that quality moment in the final third, we've just seen it. The ball in from Svenja Huth is magnificent to the back post. You're looking for your striker to gamble, Alexandra Popp does that. She thrashes it in above Pauline Peyraud-Magnin's head, it's unstoppable she's getting nowhere near it. France are rocked. Germany have been dominant and they get their reward.

Tell you what, Alex Popp is a throwback of a centre forward. It is tremendously built up down the right and Popp is a centre-forward in form. It is great movement and all about attacking it. There's no way she should be getting in front, but she is determined to be first to the ball. What a connection with the ball, too.

The game hasn't been sparkling, but as soon as you get a ball in a dangerous area, it invites a good finish.

Alexandra Popp has scored exactly one goal in every game at this tournament. She's one behind Beth Mead in the Golden Boot race now.

    Alexandra Popp

Alexandra Popp scores her record-breaking fifth consecutive Euros goal.

She beats a defender in the box too easily to hook home Svenja Huth's cross from the right wing.

Watch the best chance of the game so far, that Alex Popp free-kick.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, with Renard it is a bit like a mum playing with the kids. She wins every physical duel.

Germany's Lina Magull laches onto a loose ball down the right and bursts into the box but she's just got no chance against Wendie Renard, who brushes her aside.

Germany's Lina Magull is lucky to not get booked for a theatrical fall to the floor in the penalty area, with Wendie Renard looking at her in disgust and telling her to get to her feet.

Renard is a centre half but at 6ft 2in poses such a threat when the ball is played into the box from set pieces that she had to answer questions yesterday as to why she hadn't scored in this tournament.

She does get herself into the opponents' area shortly afterwards, but some strong Germany defending thwarts her. Tight and tense so far.

A Mexican Wave then goes around the fans after only 35 minutes, about 50 minutes too early for my liking.

Both teams are finding it difficult to get past the initial press when they lose it. Neither set of players want to give anything away in this semi-final.

That's not a penalty. There's got to be more contact for that to be clear and obvious.

If you are going to try to trick the referee, you need to be in time with when you get the touch. Renard is physical and she tried to anticipate the touch from her and go down.

A replay shows Wendie Renard touched Lina Magull, who went down in a theatrical dive. There is a VAR check but the decision is no PK.

Remember France haven't scored a second-half goal in these Euros. They could do with scoring soon then... but it's certainly Germany more likely to open the scoring.

There is a weak penalty shout for the Germans but naaah.

France keep giving away these set-pieces. They are living on the edge. This one is a waste from Germany but France are giving away opportunities.
