I'm just so excited to enjoy today as a fan.

Every time I have watched England over the years I have never got a sense of them playing as a team. I have got a sense of a group of individual players who haven't quite come together as an England group.

To be a winning team you have to be together and this group of players is, plus it has the talent.

England haven't just arrived at this point. It's been a long time coming.

We've been almost there on many occasions and if I'm brutally honest with you, the time we were there before I never thought we could do it.

I never thought we had a combination of a number of things to win.

    This is different.

Sarina Wiegman and the senior players will make sure all the players have their feet on the ground.

Imagine being Georgia Stanway and thinking 'where am I going to get my energy from?'

Well, there's 90,000 people to hep you with that. That's the biggest single difference.

England are certainly the best prepared team at Euro 2022 in my opinion. Every single test they have come up against in the group stages and the knockout stages, they have proven they are ready to take on anything that comes their way.

What I like is Leah Williamson is saying 'we are bringing everyone along with our journey'. That feels so different than in past years. Maybe the fans were not involved, maybe there was a barrier up between the team and the media.

Now everyone is willing them forward which I absolutely love. To hear these type of good luck messages from the likes of David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton, it's just fantastic.

    I have got goosebumps.

  8. A royal seal of approvalpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 31 July 2022

    England v Germany (17:00 BST)

The Lionesses have been the focus of plenty of support over the past few weeks and now Prince William and his daughter Princess Charlotte have joined the fan club.

The Duke of Cambridge posted this video earlier today wishing Sarina Wiegman's team the "best of luck" as they prepare to take on Germany.

Beth Mead has scored six goals in this summer's Euros, and she is going all out for the Golden Boot.

She is level with Germany's Alexandra Popp, meaning there is an interesting subplot today.

Could she add individual glory to a prospective team victory today?

Unbeaten as England coach, Sarina Wiegman has also won EVERY match at the Euros she's ever played.

11 games, 11 wins. She's also the last coach to win the tournament, guiding the Netherlands to success in 2017.

Can she keep her record going here?

I took a walk around Wembley earlier this morning and it's already packed with fans draped in England flags and wearing the team colours.

TV cameras are floating about, while Uefa volunteers are taking pictures of families in front of the Wembley arch.

There are plenty of former Lionesses too - ex-goalkeepers Siobhan Chamberlain and Karen Bardsley and former winger Sue Smith are among those speaking with fans.

My hotel was also packed with supporters all wearing their England shirts to breakfast. I spotted a young German fan last night too.
